The Guitars
1980 Gibson Les Paul Artisan (hearts & flowers inlay on neck) owned her since she was brand new in 1980... about wore the finish off the neck... ballsy Norlin-era, heavy as hell LP...

1993(?) Fender MIJ Fotoflame Startocaster (like a '57 re-issue) - good gigging guitar, only good position is #4 on PUP selector... but that position rocks

2006 D'Angelico New Yorker - fat jazz semi-hollow, one clean pup

2006 Reverend Warhawk 390 (3 x P-90 pups, korina body)

1972 Gibson SG II (walnut finish, two small black pups, wrap-around tail piece)

2007 Gibson SG Special Swawmp Ash (2 humbuckers and a Swamp Ash body... screams!)

1995 G&L George Fullerton Signature model (set up like a '57 re-issue Strat, but from Leo's last company on Earth, G&L... 6.3 pounds light-weight ash, tone melts in your mouth... OMG) clear nat. finish...

1988 G&L Leo Fender Signature ASAT... (2 x G&L MFD pups, HEAVY ash body, full tone, nice red rosewood fingerboard) also clear nat. finish... the fraternal twin to the guitar above...

2001 Fender Telecaster (has a Torres Engineering drop-in mod in the controls... 5-way switrch and a push-pull on the tone, makes for a mid-sweep) might have Fralin pups... bought it used... a definite keeper Tele.. tons of tones

2001 Fender U.S.A. made Stratocaster (nice 3-color burst and mint-green pick gaurd... looks very vintage... captures that "Robert Cray" sound identically)

2004 Ernie Ball MusicMan Axis SuperSport (ash body, maple birdseye top, 2 x P-90s, birdseye neck... tone smoking blues b.i.t.c.h. from hell

there is one more I can't remember right now...

Bass
1982(?) Fender U.S.A. Limited Edition Walnut Precision Bass (all-walnut body, one-piece walnut neck, active electronics with a dis-able switch, when dis-abled, sounds EXACTLY like an upright jazz bass...)

Oh... hell yeah... Revs are the sh!t, bro... love my Reverend... hey make one with P-90s, too... all their solid-bodies are korins wood...

They are a Michigan company (I'm from Mich.) and Hoe Naylor did a DAMNED good job having them made elsewhere... roght now they are all made in Korea, but don't let that fool you... he wraps his own pups.... and has the sh!t for quality control...

$500-$700 brand new... nearly every model...

I've been a MESA/Boogie fan for many years. Mainly love their clean sound, actually... but I stopped lugging them around for a few years because they were just too damned heavy... until I found my cute little Subway Rocket Reverb... 35 pounds and 22 very loud watts... loud enough for anything I do... mainly electric blues, but not metal or anything like that...

I also play straight-ahead jazz standards, and the Boogie makes a nice warm sounding jazz amp... some folks don't like the Boogies because they are sort of "Warm" (compared to other amps that have more treble bite)

Another amp I had at one time was an Evans Custom Amplifiers JE-120... until I loaned it to some girl years ago, and she brought it back smoking out of the inpute... I was soooo pissed... like a $1,200 amp... learned my lesson about loaning out stuff the hard way...

The Evans is VERY crystal clear... it is a solid-state amp, and will not distort even on ten... it is primarily a steel guitar guy's amp, but I bought it for all of the extremely cool jazz tones I could find with an arch top and a set of 12's...

I met the son of the owner of Evans amps at a blues jam in Greensboro, NC... he was always telling me about the amps him and his dad made... until one day I drove out... OMG... such damned tone... I had to have one after that...

I still have the JE-120, but I need to send it back to have Evans go over it and see whatever it is this person did to it to blow it up... Its been sitting in my closet now for like 3 years...

http://www.evansamps.com/

The Evans amps are more famous in Nashville around the pedal steel crowd... made crystal clear so you can hear all of them pedal steel strings individually... works fantastic as a jazz amp... and if you do want to throw a stomp box in front, the amp doesn't color the pedal or the guitar, so it is like having a top-shelf hi-fidelity guitar amp that can be tailored to any tone you like via stompers...
