As there is already a thread about being cheated ON, I'd like to discuss being on the other side of the fence, being the one who made the mistake.

What were your reasons?
How did you feel afterward?
Did you tell your partner?
Were you in an ambiguous relationship where it was considered cheating only by how upset the other person got when they found out?
How did you deal with their emotions?
How did you take care of rumors and slander going on about you later?
Did you guys work it out or did it totally melt?


I'm of the opinion that there are degrees of infidelity. For instance, a man who flirts and receives a naughty pic from an online pal is more forgivable than if he went and slept with his ex wife and everyone knew about it.

Then there's the guy that got loaded on boys' night and went to the strippers, which is more forgiveable than the guy who gets his teenage babysitter pregnant....

Or the one who danced with the most beautiful girl at the bar versus the deadbeat dad who still samples baby mama on the weekend visitations...


What are your personal limits on physical infidelity?

I'm pretty sure no one is going to fess up to cheating on a dating sight lol...oh and no I have never cheated and never will! I know how that feels

i heard that,

Never cheated, don't plan on doing any time soon.

However agree with the different degrees. Going to a strip club with mates on a bug guys night out is not cheating at all, understandable if your girl gets a bit angry, but still not cheating.

However someone who flirts and receives and sends naughty pics to an online pal, is cheating and really not excuseable.

Loyal like a wolf, run with a pack and don't stray far...never have and never will cheat, though I was accused of it in junior high that was just the childish girl trying to sabatoge a relationship because of distaste for the other girl...silly kids, tricks are for rabbits.

If I feel the need to cheat because the relationship is starting to suck, I just leave.

I don't have the energy or creativity to start a lie that needs to be met with more lies to cover the first one

If I ever cheated on someone, not only it will hurt the ones I care about, it would also be devastating for me because you never know you may have found that special person in your life.

On the other hand, if they cheated on you, then fight fire with fire. LOL Just kidding.

I will admit to having come close once. I had just found out my bf had cheated on me. I went out for a drink with a friend to try and cool down. There was a man hitting on me so hard, and I let him. So, I'm getting drunk and enjoying the attention I'm getting from this man, and he asked me to go to his place. I actually thought about it until realized what I was doing and stopped myself.

I guess I had to feel like I too was capable of attracting others...it was wrong and stupid and didn't solve a thing. I make allowances for myself because I was young and had never been that hurt and angry before.

No good reason really.
I didn't really deal with it until a few years later.
As for the slander, it was only a drop in the bucket compared to all the other stuff that was floating around at the time.


I like to think I wouldn't do it again.

Not sure if this is considered cheating, but it was kinda sleazy on my part. I broke up with my GF for like a week, and then got back with her. This sounds ok, but I did it for the simple reason of messing around with someone else.
