Here's the deal:

I went to the grocery store today, and on a whim bought Chips Ahoy cookies for my kids as a surprise for our "family nite" together tomorrow night, right?

*sidenote: YES, I limit my kids' sugar intake...I'm an evil parent, arent' I?* pitchfork

I confess, I just cracked into those tasty suckers...and OMG, WTH? The packaging is new-fangled, sure...but, the cookies themselves? They are like HALF the size they used to be! grumble

Who do I write about this? rant

I'd write to Nabisco and complain. Cookies at half the size, but twice the price. What's up with that?

Maybe your hands are just bigger since the last time you ate one. Seriously though, hit them up on their website they ought to have some kind of complaint link there. So on family night do you play games? What kind? My kids are teaching me how to play guitar hero. I totally suck.

I'm not sure they are "twice the price" since I haven't bought these cookies in years (literally).

But, holy chit...they seem small to me now...about the size of a silver dollar. ohwell

But, I'm still eating the hell outta them...here, want one - or three? laugh

I saw some new kind of Peppermint Oreos in the store earlier today...- will probably get them next time.

Hope you're eating them the proper way, by dunking them in a cold glass of milk...

yummmmmmmmmmmm...

I'm thinking/hoping that is the case...my hands and memory have GROWN since I purchased these cookies last.

Family night consists of:

1. We ALL contribute to cooking dinner.

2. Eat together around the table and NOT in front of a TV.

3. We actually talk about our past week and our goals, etc. for the upcoming week.

4. We play a game - and NOT a computer game, but a REAL game - cards, board game, etc....or read a book outload....or watch a worthwhile and/or educational/FUN movie together.

I know, boring as hell for some...but, it works for my family unit. smokin

Boring? Hardly. That's the way I grew up virtually every day!

Once a week? That's a good start.

Not boring sounds good to me. We like trivia games, but I do have an unfair advantage when it comes to those games so for giggles we are trying guitar hero. Santa brings us a new board game for the whole family every year. Only a few more years of that though the kids are 19 and 16. Looks like I'll be playing lots of solitary if Mingle doesn't come through for me.

Yup, same here, Mr. Music! drinker

It would be that way EVERY night in my home if I had sole custody, but I have a joint custody - co-parenting situation here, which actually works VERY well for all of us.

Thankfully, my ex-wife and I still parent identically as when we were married...and we remain best friends, and keep our children's best interests at heart. However, with my work schedule and the kids' schedules during the week, it's tough to do the Ozzie/Harriet routine every night. sad2

However, Sundays will always be Family Night in my household...even if that means the kids all say "this BLOWS" and storm off to their rooms. laugh

Now, about these smaller cookies.... explode

We love trivia games also! Although, last night we played Pictionary and me and my eldest son got our arses KICKED by my other two youngest children! sick laugh

I think we are going back to the board games. Last time we played GH, I caught my daughter recording me on her phone. I'm afraid I am going to end up a star on Youtube. Oh god how humiliating.
