1. My teddy bear, named Teddy (how odd, huh?).

2. I got him the day I was born as a gift from my oldest sister, who, if memory serves, bought him at the hospital gift shop (might be wrong on that). I still have him, although he is MUCH worse for wear these days. His original ears had fallen off, his tail is gone, his nose is gone, his eyes have fallen off (twice), and his tongue fell off. My mother lovingly "rebuilt" him -- sewed new ears, new buttons for eyes (a mis-matched one was replaced when it fell off again), and sewed a new tongue for him. Most of his "fur" is gone. His job is long done, his duty well-served, and now he resides on a shelf in my bedroom, serving a well-earned and highly-deserved retirement from service.

3. Never sucked my thumb (at least, not that I know of -- might be wrong on that), but I did have a pacifier. In fact, I still kept it as a childhood remembrance up until a handful of years ago. No idea where it is now, or if it even exists anymore.

Wow babe!!! We have matching bears!!!

I'd like to add an unrelated footnote to this....if anyone doesn't believe I still have my teddy bear, there is one person on this very site who can verify that I do. tongue2

Hey guys! I am writing a paper and we have to survey people (the more the better) So I was wondering if you could answer my questions?

Did you have an item that comforted you as a child (like a blankie, toy, stuffed animal...)
When did you get it/ get rid of it?
Did you suck your thumb or have a pacifier?

Thats it! My teacher prefers we include gender and a first name but you can choose to remain anonymous!
Thanks for all you lovely people who help me

1. yes i had a blankie named woobie and a giant bear named Georgie bear. ;p

2. i stole the blankie from my cousin and georgie bear was given to me by my grandpa which i named the bear after. i still have them but stopped keeping them on my bed after high school.

1. Yes, it was called my "silky". It was a black and silver silk scarf of my Nanna's (grandmother) that I pulled off her neck one day when I was a toddler (about two y.o., I think) and would never give back. I would just rub it constantly between my thumb and forefinger when I was lonely, stressed, or upset.

2. I lost it when I was about six when our house burned down to the ground.

3. Never sucked my thumb or used a pacifier.

uuhhhmmmmm...........as Roberta said...no laughing

1. Yes, a baby blankie and a stuffed dog named Sleeper that I got when I was about 2blushing blushing

2. Didn't get rid of either one of them....kept the blanket and gave it to my younger daughter and told her it would keep her safe when she slept in her "big girl" bed. (Darn kid still has it!!) Sleeper is over at Mom's house still in my old room.....she can't part with him...lol....we had to sew his ears back on and his tail back on. We even had to sew a heart shaped patch on his chest where his stuffing came out. laugh

3. Yes, I sucked my thumb too until I was about 5....until Dad threatened to put horseradish on my thumb.sick

oops....forgot....
