fair warnign watership down is avery heart rending story. I remember it
beign extremely graphic (the movie) and extremely real life. If you are
one (like myself) who is affected by senseless destruction and violence,
you might wish you had not seen this movie, or read the book.

I have just reopened.....

April Fool's Day- Bryce Courtenay

And I have to say....am so absorbed back into the retelling of Bryce's
son's life, and his challenges with Hemaphelia, and then Aids.

It is an honour to read it again.

Yes!!! Thankyou illusion, it was....flowerforyou

No Kim, it doesn't have a happy ending, it is a true story of Bryce
Courtenay's son, Damon, and his life...a father's way of honouring his
son.

I like those Chicken Soup For The Soul books. I am reading Chicken Soup
For The Single Mothers Soul right now. I enjoy reading about other
single mothers and there experience. Makes me feel that I am not alone
in the single parenting roll, and that others do have the problems that
I may have. There is a mixture of humorous and serious stories in it.
And I enjoy reading them all.

Richard Adams is the author of "Watership Down."
As for the topic of this thread, my list is as large as my imagination
and I can only answer for my favorite authors-
I would start with one of my heros-Kurt Vonnegut-who recently passed
away.

I recently read the John Updike "Rabbit" series (4 novels and a short
story sequel) and I am still amazed at the sheer quality of the man's
work.

His "Bech" books are well worth a read, too.
