Ok.. so I was watching a show the other night and they were talking about some Creationism Museum. OK, that's great. But what I didn't understand is how they explained the dinosaurs since they were claiming the World is only 6,000 years old. They also said that dinosaurs and all animals in general only became "meat eating" because of Adam's sin in the garden... huh Before Adam & Eve "sinned" everything was a vegatarian. Doesn't this imply also that "meat eating" is a sin? Can someone explain this to me... flowerforyou

Well the problem is that with creationism... they are claiming that the world is 6,000 years old. Well we dinosaur bones millions of years old. They are claiming at this museum that dinosaurs and man were created on the same day...

was that a fundie christian museum?
if that is the case well dear you know the answer. they are fundies, and there is no proof in the world to make them see that the first chapters of the genesis is an allegory, a collection of ancient stories running through the middle east way before Moses which only purpose is to illustrate basic theological principles in an easy way to understand for the men who were going to read them at the point in time when the Genesis was written.

TLW- Here's a copy of part of the link that ljcc sent...

The Bible teaches (in Genesis 1:29-30) that the original animals (and the first humans) were commanded to be vegetarian. There were no meat eaters in the original creation. Furthermore, there was no death. It was an unblemished world, with Adam and Eve and animals (including dinosaurs) living in perfect harmony, eating only plants.

Sadly, it did not stay this way for very long. Adam rebelled against his Creator, bringing sin into the world (Genesis 3:1-7; Romans 5:12). Because of this rebellion, Adam, and thus all of his descendants (you and me), gave up the right to live with a Holy (sinless) and just God. God therefore judged sin with death.

The Bible plainly teaches from Genesis to Revelation that there was no death of animals or humans before Adam sinned. (Consider just a few of the many passages, such as: Romans 5:12; Genesis 2:17; Genesis 1:29-30; Romans 8:20-22; Acts 3:21; Hebrews 9:22; I Corinthians 15; Revelation 21:1-4; Revelation 22:3.) This means there could not have been any animal fossils (and no dinosaur bones) before sin.

After Adam’s sin, animals and people started to die. It was now a different world, one of death and strife. A world that was once beautiful now suffered under the curse placed upon it by the Creator (Genesis 3:14-19). But a promise was given (Genesis 3:15) that God would provide a way for the penalty of sin to be paid so there would be a way for man to come back to God.

as far as dead, the teaching is correct.
however, for animals to become meat eaters there must have been an extremely long evolutionary process in their system to change the way they fed themselves.
then again your assertion is correct how can we mention dinasours if they were here millions of years before the Bible was written.
again the theological principle there is that sin brings dead (that is what I believe). Man was not meant to die. Man was presented with an option obey or disobey to the Creator. Man disboyed, thus there must be a consequence. Man had to die and from there all the way to us.
Notice, that I say Man, and not Adam. My speech is very general and not too just one single individual.

Well if dinosaurs are millions of years old... and man is only a few thousand years old... and death only comes from sin then how come dinosaurs and other animals died before Adam & Eve or "man" came along?

you see dear, animals are God's creatures and He loves them as well. Obviously, not in the same manner as He loves us His very own children.
Animals were not given a supernatural soul which always tends to its creator.
Animals were just given a spirit which only tends to preservation and survival. When they die they just stop existing, as oppose to humans whom when they die they transcend.
Thus, it does not matter whatsoever if animals die or not because they just disappear from any plain of existance at all.
Whereas Man has to come back to meet his creator again.

I understand what you are saying but from what I have read... there wasn't ANY death at all before Adam sinned. Not man or animal. And it was Adam's sin that caused everything to become meat eating and die.

if we follow the first eleven chapters of the genesis literally.
well then yes, the whole universe was created in 7 single days, eve was created from Adam's rib, and ofcourse women should be consider less than men. adam named all the animals and plants, etc.

I saw that show. It's unfortunate that people still cling to such beliefs.

If you follow it literally... All sorts of problems develope.

Like mankind was created on the 6th day. 'male and female created he them'.

Yet adam was only breath into on the 8th day... After the garden was created in the east god create adam from the dust of the earth...

which one are you. get of the first born (those created on the 6th day)

Or get of Adam...

Lonely Walker,

Did you join the Obama cult? I see you are using his picture for your icon.

I have begun to notice that people are worshiping him as the new King of the world.

When he had won the election the background music was and instrumental of "JOY TO THE WORLD" The television cameras scanned the audience full of faces gazing up at the lighted stage at the new King as if in rapturous joy with tears in their eyes.

Honestly it looked like the rapture had begun and they were gazing at God. This was quite a subliminal production.

Then when the cameras scanned Obama's face, (looking up at him to elevate his stature) the song had reached the part where the lyrics would have been "LET EARTH RECEIVE HER KING!"

Thats a lot of subliminal advertising for the new king of the world.

I said OOPS! (I voted for him too.)

noway --OMG what have I done? --frustrated

I fell for it... I wasn't paying attention. OMG.. sad

The way people are worshiping him now is down right creepy. Some are even wanting to declare a national holiday for Barack Obama.

Hey at least wait until he performs a few miracles. Even Jesus had to do a few miracles to get his holiday.

How about this one of him as the light worker?
