Topic: Gone to the dogs! | |
---|---|
Okay, I was just watching a show about the Queen of England's visit the the United States a couple years ago.
A small aside featured Shrubs dogs mucking about on the grounds of the White House. The man who was walking and working with the dogs has had the job since 1973. The footage showed him playing soccer with the scottish terrier and chatting about past presidents dogs. My question is...how the heck do I get that job? |

so the dogs are 35 years old?

haha No this lucky sob has worked at the white house since 1973 with a variety of presidents dogs.

Okay, I like dogs and cats but here's the thing.
When the going gets tough I want a dog in my corner. Dogs will hunt with you and share the kill. Cat's well, they are on to their next human servant. |

You haven't met my cat...he's chased people into a corner of the room...they called me on their cell phone to come help them.

I have known some excellent cats in my life.
Still, dogs and humans have a working relationship that goes back to our earliest roots. Hunting, guarding and depending on each other for food, security and companionship. Cat's came to the table later. |

If toast always lands butter-side down...and...cats always land on their feet...what happens if you strap toast on the back of a cat and drop it?... |

You are so right Quiet.
Your dog will guard you even after death. A good dog never dies. He always stays. He walks besides you on crisp autumn days when frost is on the fields and winter's drawing near. His head is within our hand in his old way. Mary Carolyn Davies Fugley R.I.P. |

DON'T GRIEVE TOO LONG
Don't grieve too long for now I'm free I've followed the path God set for me I ran to Him when I heard His call I swished my tail and left it all. I could not stay another day To bark, to love, to romp or play Games left unplayed must stay that way I found such peace, it made my day. My parting has left you with a void Please fill it with remembered joy A friendship shared, your laugh, a kiss Oh yes, these things I too shall miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow My life's been full, you've given so much Your time, your love and gentle touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief Don't lengthen it now with undue grief Lift up your head and share with me God wanted me, He set me free! |

She might just be desperate for another opinion.
Or maybe she's a pet slut. You know...one of those dogs or cats who will go around the room begging pets from who ever is there. Some animals have no standards. |

Sweet! tell me about it...I've got an 8 year old Blk Lab and a 7 year old Great Pyrenees... ...we've figured out how to slow down the destruction of Aids...we've landed a man on the moon..but..we just haven't figured out...how to keep dogs in our lives for a bit longer...think about it...in the last 40...50...years.. no real gains in longevity as far as dogs go...damn !! |
