This is what I do for a living and .......unfortunantly it goes both
ways.

the question shouldn't be what we think... the question should be why
stay at all.. Once he or she takes that step to bring in abuse... the
realtionship should end there and then. Screw counceling... There should
be no reason someone who you love or supposedly loves you should ever
feel the desire hit you or vice versa.
The only "hurt" a love should have is a broken heart or a deep ache for
the other.
Unless of course you are into the BDSM and then there are limits as
well.

I know TT... I was once there myself... It was a sad sad situation to be
in and extremely hard to get out of... and when you are in it.. there
will always be excuses as to why it happens.. but none of the excuses
the abused comes up with it will ever justify it.. and no matter how
much the abuser apoligises to the abused for what they have done.. it
can still not be justified..

To get to the point.. the abuser thinks nothing of themselves (low self
esteem)and is usually the "guilty" one(of all the things they accuse
about).

So, when someone asks for why, or what we think.. it always brings back
the memories of that time.. and it truley makes me sad that they are or
have experienced it at all.

people have the opinion that abuse is one-sided, man against woman. It

Yes you here more about men hitting women. This is because of societies
gender racial issues that say women are weaker. I dont care if they are
weaker. Women still go out and hit their boyfriends and husbands. If
they are not satisfied wit the amage, they pick up a weapon. Either way
it is still assault and it is still worng,

AND ANY PERSON ON THE RECEIVING END OF ASSAULT SHOULD BE ABLE TO STRIKE
BACK, ONE SWING FOR ONE SWING, WITHOUT FEAR OF LEGAL RETALIATION. I say
one for one swing. In other words jsut enough to be able to turn around
and run!
My borthers ex girlfriend took a knife to him. He gave her a right
hook, ONCE (did nt dare turn his back to run before hand). He even
pulled the right hook, but it knocked her on her ass, at which point he
turned and ran, called the police. He got chargeds with assault. Who
else thinks that was bull****?
I mean no; someone hits you that does not give you the right to beat the
**** out of them. However, if you do have to swing back long enough to
break free and run then by all means do so, AND THEN RUN AND GET THE
HELL OUT OF DODGE!!!!! DO NOT GO BACK TO IT, GET HELP!

there is a difference between abuse and self defense

ok and let's not forget sometimes there is no place to go and no money
to help [especially for men]oh i know shelters and safe houses but it
doesn't often look to appealing unemployed stayed at home a long time
really hard to just sneak off

But my thoughts, If a man hist a women or even a child they are a
COWARD! My ex was abusive moth physically and mentally. Not only towards
me but also in away towards my 5 month old son at the time. They need to
seek help and FAST. As soon as the thought even enters there mind get
COUNSELING. Nip it in the butt before it ever happens. Whether you are
male of female. Cause yes I have heard of it from both sides. There is
never any reason that ANYBODY should resort to that. Well OK maybe a
VERY few senerios but how likely are those to happen really? So please
anybody please anybody that even thinks like that get help I am
pleading. My son and I went through hell. And it breaks my heart to even
think of it happening at all.

exactly green eyes, but the sad truth is that society as a rule ignores
self defense when it is between a man and a woman. No matter wat the
situation is (like with my brother) the man is automatically wrong.
Now dont get me wrong. Like I said I do not condone violence on either
side f the fence. In fact Iam quite well on my way to being a pacifist
lol, except that I believe in self defense. But it is not self defense
if you have the chance to leave, and instead choose to fight. and it is
not defense of another, to beat hte **** out of someone once they get
out of jail for assault. I am sorry but they served their time,
hopefully they are rehabilitated, if nt they go back to jail. But you
do nt EVER have the excuse to hit another person unless it is in
immediate defense, and then only long enough and enough force to provide
an escape.

Well, it angers me to think that 2 people that are in "LOVE" would even
resort to that. In TN if you tell your partner, man or woman, "JUST SAY"
I'm gonna hit you if you don't stop or any sort of threat, you go to
jail. Called domestic violance, mandatory 12 hours in jail, or 24,
depends on the seriousness of the offense.

Its bad enough hne a man hits another man. I mean..dont get me
wrong...some lessons are only learned throught getting your butt handed
to you. Only a coward hits a woman. there is no excuse. There is allways
another way to solve the problem. I'll never understand that... or
people who hurt kids.

they seem like they like it sometimes ive helped women get out of those
situations an they go right back an then im the a hole aint that a box
of qaukers or the women is meaner than the man ive seen this one too i
know it sounds funny but it happens alot.
