*sigh* Violence has such a bad rep in today's society. And yet it's
violence, and the threat of violence, that protects us. The moment
police and military stop carrying guns- it's pure anarchy. Or at least
within the first 48 hours of when they disarm. Violence solves
*everything*- it just tends to cause worse problems in the process.

And there's a difference between attacking someone and fighting back.
Never a good reason to attack someone physically- except to protect
someone else.

And there's never a good reason to sit there and take it instead of
fighting back- unless of course they have a gun- in which case fighting
back equals death. Letting someone get away with violence only
encourages more violence.

That said- hurting people who hurt OTHER people- is not only
acceptable, but encourageable. I'm thinking rusty barbed wire and a car
batter, for starters.
