Topic: Women, do long profiles bother you? | |
---|---|
As for me if I come across a long profile, I look to see if we have any of the same interests, I do look to see if anything is in BOLD, I try to skim through a long profile to see if we have anything in common.
Also depends on what mood i'm in. If i'm tired I won't bother looking at it. I'm funny that way |

I look forward to the long profiles. But if it doesn't keep my interest going through out the whole thing, I quit reading. Most guys tend to put the key points in the very beginning so just because I've quit reading, doesn't mean I've lost all interest.

I prefer medium length profiles. I don't want to read your life story and everything you believe and why in your profile. Just the basics and a few interesting things to start a conversation with.

My profile is 3205 pages long. That's deliberate, because I have seen SO many profiles that consist of nothing more than "I don't know what to write here" or "You'll have to ask." I have a natural revulsion for the mindless, insubstantial types who can't be bothered to write three sentences about themselves.
In a written medium, it is in one's best interests to use the power of that medium to one's benefit. Or it would be, if people were capable of reading and comprehending what one has to say. At this point, I see my profile as a sort of ongoing blog/manifesto of what it is I'm looking for, what it is I'm NOT looking for, and what goes on in my life day-to-day. There's a short story in there, and some random tangential stuff. Some people like it, some people don't. And that's fine. I'm not putting a gun to anyone's head and forcing them to read it (not since the court order went through, anyway). |

I very, very rarely come across a guy's profile that is long. Most are non-existent or very short.

I read and like a good profile...but it has to be about the person, not just pasted quotes from a song or poem they love. Not that it's wrong to have an attachment to someone else's writing/lyrics...just that it doesn't tell me about YOU when I'm reading about you.
The flip side is the "I want a friend so email me" kind of short profile... What does THAT mean? |

My profile is long. I just figured if a woman is truly interested in me, she'd read the whole thing. I have plenty to talk about in conversation, but I'd rather just get "ME" out there and let the women know me. It eliminates the trouble of the wrong type of woman for my life messaging me.
Lately, I have been getting great feedback on how good my profile is. Hey, it's just honest! |
