What's the verdict on "Mutual Match"? How's that working for everyone?

NOT Hmmm...that's what I figured. I guess it makes sense. I know that I like to get emails (or friend requests). |

Everyone has a different opinion of MM- personally, I like it, I have met some really great people from it- I have not met anyone from the forums at all- it really just depends on how you utilize it.

I agree, I have dated a few from Mutual Match, not all you get will be right, you just have to filter thru them. |

The concept itself is fine. Hypothetically, it could work quite nicely if people knew how to use it and were actually interested in doing so.
The problem for me is the profile snippets included with the MM candidates. They are almost always poorly written, or empty, vapid, incomprehensibly spelled, badly punctuated, and misgrammarized; if there is any content, it's boring beyond all human understanding, derivative to the point that 90% of the profiles are completely interchangeable. There are only so many ways to express "I don't know what to write here." If I wanted to read the profiles of cardboard cutouts, I would have stayed on MySpace. The good MM candidates I get are all 897,000 miles away. |

Also a valid point- i usually pass by the ones who don't want to take the time to write something or they write- will write something late- no!! write something now!! if they are too lazy to take the time why waste mine? Yeah, it's like they think you'll check back on a regular basis for updates. "Gee, I wonder if they wrote something yet! I'll go look! Nope -- OK, I'll come back and look again in ten minutes." -but do you think you might be just a bit too picky? Lex? just a question? For sure. But I've seen what happens when I'm NOT picky, and it ain't pretty. There are certain things I just don't ever want to have to go through again. |

MM hasn't been too effective in starting conversations.

I have had lots of mutual matches, but.... No one seems to want to respond to that first email. Or, if they do, it is always very brief, and I lose interest completely.
