I am feeling very good about this man's ability and his skills in bring bipartisanship back to the fore.I will say John Mc
Cain showed such grace and honor in his concession speech. I was always taught to respect people till they did something untoward.Respect shouldn't have to be earned for anybody. You should have it for all, even the least among us.It's human decency to do so. |

...........what does it take for people to at least respect him for his commitment and his dedication to this country?
Way back when Bill Clinton first took office I thought the sky was falling. Then he lost the majority in Congress and I relaxed a bit. By his second term I was getting fond of old Bubba. Somewhere in the middle of the Dubya second term I kind of missed Bill and finally thought that a return to a Clinton White House with Hillary might not be so bad. Then along came Barack Obama, Rev. Wright, Ayers, Acorn, and all. I watched as Obama suddenly started rowing his boat to the middle of the road and was ditching right and left the people he had associated with on the road to the top. Wright was thrown under the bus, he barely knew Ayers, and Acorn was just another local activist group. You know something? The more Obama became just another opportunist politician the more I started to trust him. I don't see any change at all. He's a very gifted speaker who will compromise, hide, and redefine whatever it takes to get where he's determined to go. In other words he'll do just fine as president. He's probably going to have a tough time getting this country back on track. I wish him the best. Listen you are like that teacher in Charlie Brown.............WE HAVE ALL HEARD IT BEFORE GIVE IT A REST...............i wanted an opinion not some govt rhetoric.............. |

I will bet you anything that no one has ever written anything close to what I just did. Let me try again. Even though I did not vote for Bill Clinton I eventually grew fond enough of him to not worry about the country while he was the president. Barack Obama is a very skilled politician who has had to adjust his course to get where he is today. He has shown great skill in defining his position and eloquently sharing his vision with the American people. Along the way he has handled himself so well that I have started to trust him to not be a blind partisan but to behave in a more centrist manner that will likely benefit America. I WISH HIM THE BEST. I'll rest now but please never again attempt to silence my opinion. |

I agree. Even the children are taught to respect their teachers when they first meet them. |

Time is what it will take... We've seen Obama in the middle of some very heated political debates, campaigns for a long time now -- most politicians are good at speaking, but Obama has mastered it...He speaks and people listen, even those who have not supported him. Soon it will be time to see if he can walk the walk, and not just talk the talk. (yes he has in many ways, but being President is much different...) When he starts doing that, as every American who truly loves our Country hopes he does, - then much respect will be given I feel. Until then, there are still too many unanswered questions left in limbo -- that only time will answer. I do truly hope and pray he is able to pull this Country together. It was an incredible night to witness, very moving and uplifting. I did not vote for him - but, like he said, he is my President now too. ( well...he will be ) |
