Hi. Im thinking of getting a web cam. I have a cable connection. Im looking for something that has fluid movement and color. Has anyone had a good experience with one or a brand/model they recommend? Thanks. For quality video you have to check how many pixels the resolution is the higher the better (under 2 is bad 3-4 & 5 good above 5 very good). As for it having fluent video it depends if you have a good quality one the video will be fluent when recording a video but when connecting to the internet it all depends on your internet speed. Okay. I will look for a higher pixel type. I think my connection speed is decent (cable). No complaints there but I dont really have anything to compare it to either. Its not dial up or anything horrible like that. I dont plan on making videos with it but primarily internet usage, connecting with other cams, etc.

Have fun with it.

The very best you could get is a digital video camera that can also be used as a web camera. A little pricey the last time I looked, but you can use it for multiple things. Videos, stills, and as a web cam....They always have outstanding video quality over the web as a cam. They CAN be fun cause you can see expressions as you chat!!!

I cant spend all that much. Im budgeting like no more than $200 and thats a stretch. I just want it to hook up with other cams but looking for a clear picture quality.

dynex - model # dx-dtcam - sn9c105 have had for 2 yrs no problems - cost at best buy at the time 19.95 plus tax - if model is not available any more, then go with similiar product that is certified messenger approved - yahoo etc. they have better cams, so i will leave it to you to pick the feastures you may want. mine is 2pix and has built in mic.

Word of advice: Never, never, NEVER get a webcam/microphone combo. If you need both, buy them both seperately.

If you need both, buy them both seperately. i agree - i have a seperate headphone mic for that purpose, i was just stating that it came with it in that model od dynex, great cam, poor mic. but i was looking for cam not mic so it made no diff.
