We can pretend to be all gentlemanly, but deep down we all know the only reason we open a door for a lady is to ogle her a$$ as she walks through.

THE SECRET IS OUT!!!

Well your mom always said it paid to practice good manners- Guess she was right! LOL!

God I hate pleasantries.

All it really means is that the dude can't afford a chauffeur.

I was thinking about entry/exit doors to buildings... hadn't even thought about car doors!

I'll tell you.

A friend of mine held the door open for me to walk out of a gas station and the lady behind the counter absolutely had a conniption fit like the world was about to end. If she can't hear that little "ding" that sounds, even though she's two feet away from the door without anything obstructing her vision........OMG

i don't hold doors open for other people to get a 'thank you'

i hold doors open for other people because it's common courtesty and it makes me feel good to do so.

I try to when I can, but about half the time she either isn't willing to or doesn't know to wait. On the other hand, I find myself in the wrong position to get it open for her and feel awkward.

If you're doing it for a thank you, you're doing it for the wrong reason.

I do that sometimes. The looks I get from those who don't say thank you are funny.

hey, I got my car door opened for me over the weekend, and not only that but it was raining so for them to see me securely in the car was quite impressive. I showed my thanks, and was impressed by their actions.
