Topic: Profiles at political ads

So what does everyone think when they see any of the profiles that people have turned into political ads?

I know there are not many but there are a couple where pictures have been added not to venerate the candidate they like but to attack someone they do not.

I know I personally would never talk to or be interested in such a person.

What does everyone else think? Are they hurting their chances to meet someone?

I just chalk it up as #4597 on my list of things people do that simply don't make any sense to me.

Are they hurting their chances to meet someone? I could see that going a couple different ways. A person seeing that sort of pic might actually be more inclined to connect with someone who hates the same candidate they hate!

I'm pretty much apolitical (I can't support any system in which flawed, fallible human beings are given sanctioned authority over other flawed, fallible human beings) so it makes no real difference to me either way.

I like someone who can carry on an intelligent conversation about politics but posting a commercial seems like and abuse of my time to read a profile and would discourage my interest in a big way weather I liked their candidate or not.

I think if you want to add notes on the bottom of a profile like many people do the ribbons or changeing out photo's is ok.

Lot of us post profiles but not all of it is to really get someone interested in dates but update your friends on the site.

Last time I heard free speech was still ok on Profiles so do your own thing and live with the consequences.

I have posted in my profile a pic of me holding a 7-11 coffee cup with one of the candidates name on it. I did it for a friend who is an Obama supporter.
It is not intended to be a political statement.
I did it to make her laugh and smile.
I sold my political soul for the favor of a woman.

Yes it is and one pic would be humor. Multiple pics start to suggest you are a political wack-job and who sees that and becomes interested?

and people who post one photo of themselves, with face averted, suggests to me that they might be hiding themselves, either from something or someone.

Not sure what this has to do with anything, but.... you really think a picture where I am not looking dead at the camera would actually hide me from anyone? Yeah, the legally blind maybe.

I posted a few political photos. I took them last week when I went to Obama's rally. I don't think that makes me a political whack-job.
