Topic: Pumpkin Seeds

I carved a 29 lb. pumpkin yesterday. I baked the seeds last night. I was eating some of the seeds today. I gave some to a friend. My friend was surprised that I eat the seeds AND the shells. Does anybody else do that?

Ah, no. I eat them like sunflower seeds and spit out the shell.

I don't but know several that do...always ask b4 I throw them out if anybody wants them to palnt next year or to eat..

i do. do you put spices on them? i have a pumpkin that needs carving and i was gonna bake the seeds.

i didnt know you werent supposed to eat them whole, i always do.

i do. do you put spices on them? i have a pumpkin that needs carving and i was gonna bake the seeds. It was my first time. On one side of the pan I put salt and garlic. On the other side of the pan I put salt, garlic, and Parmesan. This thread gave me the ideas about the spices: http://mingle2.com/topic/show/175417
