You told a trusted friend something very personal and private and now it's no longer private.Who is at fault?You for confiding( because had you not told them ,this wouldn't have happened ) or them for telling?

The first time they do it, they're at fault, for violating confidentiality. The second time, you're at fault, for not learning from the first time.

Well u are suppose to be able to confide in your true friends, but again there is a huge difference between an acqaintance (which I do not trust) or true friends( I only have a few of those, but they know my darkest secrets..;))

I don't like to think it's wrong for trusting people...but unfortunately if you tell a thing to ANYONE, you should expect it is no longer a secret. Someone does not have to be dishonest or backstabbing to let a thing slip out either...sometimes people make mistakes and forget that it was not something you wanted known.

anyhow....... sharing secrets is a thing friends do. if i knew something about you or had a secret you told me....that could help another "friend" out if they knew. or maybe i just kinda thought it could.... then I guess I was in the wrong for sharing the secret.. im not good at keepoing secrets. i hate them. BUT any personal personal info is always safe with me. "secret" must be defined as just general gossip or actual shared secrets about ones life I think it depends on the secret that was shared.
