I have dated a couple of Dwaynes in my recent years.

I thought you meant the same name as you have when I first saw it, lol, I doubt I would meet a man named Barbara though..lol

My daughter Christina married Christopher this last summer so they are both called Chris. I call her Stia so I don't cause any confusion anyway.

Had two or three Michelle's, a couple of Wendy's, two Becky's, and two Carrie's.

I think I should just stay away from women whose names end in a vowel. ohwell

Honestly, I think the odds are almost zero of it even being a possibility.

Somehow I end up with women with really unique names.

Dezra, Elvira, Tresa, Nilka, Echo...ya see what I mean?

When I read the title to this I thought you were asking if I would date someone with MY name.

It would be unusual, but I think i could Date a girl named Joshua... of course if it got serious and we got married that could get complicated, both being named Joshua Mills. I might almost insist she keeps her late name to avoid confusion. laugh

I have no choice... it's awfully hard to exclude every Michael. Its did seem after we split though every single guy I met, his name was MikE!

Yes, I would, but I think I would be hard pressed to find another woman named: Michal.

Weird, but funny, story to my ex-wife's name. They thought she was going to be a he, so they had the baby name picked out already: Michael.

When she was born, they decided to just drop the "el" and name her Micha, but they screwed-up the birth certificate and she became "Michal". Her parents just said WTH, we liked the name anyway so I guess the baby's name was meant to be Micha(e)l.

I'm sure there are other women named Micha(e)l out there, but I have yet to meet one.

Anyway, regardless of the name, I wouldn't attach anything negative to a person's name - it's not who they are, it's just what they are called. flowerforyou

Of course I would! I surely wouldn't give an ex the power in my own mind to forever taint a name they happened to have been given at birth. They don't own it! Self empowerment says love the person, not the name. lol

Not to mention there are 2 Mike's that I work with and my neighbors 8 yr old kid is a Mike.

How about someone with the same last name? What starts out sounding kinda interesting becomes strange over time...

Would you date someone with the same first name as your ex? I was sent a match from another site today and it surprised me because the guy had the same first name as my ex and he was from the same town my ex lived in before he died. (Guess I hadn't thought about this before.) My ex really soured his name for me, but just wondering.

Would prefer it actually. That way when we're in the sack and I say her name..it's right...no matter what.

But if you need all their names to be the same, is that an indication of Alzhiemer's or a lack of meaningful conversation before you hit the sack?

ummmmm What were you saying?

Sorry, I forgot my little smiley or laughing face to let anyone know that I was trying to be funny.

I've been single so long, I don't even remember my exes name. laugh

So it's long term memory loss, too! How fortunate for your next relationship! It will be like having a completely clean slate. Now, that's a bonus!

Before, during and after...if shes still conscious. I'm a wellspring of meaningful conversation. At least to someone I care about enough to be "in the sack" with. To all others, I just say "Have a good day".

Have a good day.
