Would you date someone with the same first name as your ex? I was sent a match from another site today and it surprised me because the guy had the same first name as my ex and he was from the same town my ex lived in before he died. (Guess I hadn't thought about this before.) My ex really soured his name for me, but just wondering.

Yeah, for some odd reason that just creeps me out...I tend to shy away from someone with the same name as the ex...but my dad was married twice, both of them had the same first name...guess that way he could remember ....lol

I think I'd have to come up with a nickname or something. Sounds irrational, but it would be too weird for me.

if it causes bad feelings no . i wouldn't be ffare to you or him. theres plenty of different named people out there. but then again everyone is not the same. or you could ask him to change his name good luck with that.

When I was 18 I had a job where a guy with the same name as my ex harassed me and gave me a really hard time. Then at 19 I married my ex, guess I have decided guys with that name need to be avoided. My ex was really violent, I am not sure I could date someone with the same name and not think about the ex when I hear his name.
