I thought about not posting this subject for a couple reasons.

The main reason of course is that there are a few hateful people here who I sure will use the subject to churn up a little more hate.

So who thinks it is going to hit the fan no matter what the result of the election is?

Who thinks the government might be part of that? Will they go so far as to incite rioting? Remember there were many police participating in the Chicago riots than demonstrators.

Are you personally doing anything to prepare for civil unrest?

Police Prepare For Possible Election Night Riots

Will election night bring civil unrest?

--------

Police departments countrywide think it's a possibility, and they're preparing for riots or other violent reactions to a McCain or Obama victory, The Hill reports.

There is particular concern that a loss by Obama, who has built a big lead in the polls, could prompt significant problems.

"Some worry that if Barack Obama loses and there is suspicion of foul play in the election, violence could ensue in cities with large black populations," The Hill writes. Detroit, Chicago, Oakland and Philadelphia are among the cities that plan to have extra police deployed.

“Are we anticipating it will be a riot situation? No. But will we be prepared if it goes awry? Yes,” Oakland Police Department spokesman Jeff Thomason said.

Oakland will have extra units trained to deal with riots deployed and SWAT teams on standby when the results come in. Many police departments are preparing as they might for the possibility of a championship win or loss by a local sports team.

Some believe riots could come no matter who wins.

“If [Obama] is elected, like with sports championships, people may go out and riot,” Bob Parks, an online columnist and black Republican candidate for state representative in Massachusetts, told The Hill. “If Barack Obama loses there will be another large group of people who will assume the election was stolen from him….. This will be an opportunity for people who want to commit mischief.”

Yeah when the Av's won the Stanley Cup a whole buncha white people rioted.

I have to admit, I was pretty damned disgusted when they won too, but I didn't riot.

I just hated Patrick Roy even more than I already did.

We in the Western world, have become lazy and spoiled..

I recently got invited to a market research meeting in my area, the reasons for which are too convoluted to go into here [I live in Scotland] but I told the guy who conducted it, that none of the parties style of government was very different from the other parties.

"Then what would you suggest?" he asked.

"A revolution" I said.. "It never did the French any harm"

I bought a few extra staples, some bottled water and some extra bullets. I could eat out of my woods for some time.

I suppose I might be over reacting but oh well.

I remember 1968.

Thank you for mentioning. For some reason people fail to see that the two parties are almost identical. Neocons are dems and repubs combined, and they are the problem.

We need a conservative member in power that is trust worthy, but the media doesn't seem to want them around...

Am i preparing for a revolution? No. Do i want one? YES. But the revolution i speak of is one at the ballot box. I wish people would stop supporting a candidate because of party affiliation. Dont riot, just vote for someone we need in office presidential and congressional... That's my stance...

I live in West Texas. There aren't enough people here to have a riot.

Unless you buy a keg

very soon , people here who exercise their right of free choice will become targets of Homeland Security, for inciting civil unrest, and with the Patriot Act...we will be ceased, held, and probably dumped in a mass grave..Government Death Squads... If u dont have a gun,,better get one soon, right to bear arms and defend yourself, From the government.

with all the corruption in the voting process, do we really know who won ?????..

the media has already decided the election results, they just keep cramming it into our heads to vote that way>>

Three words:

Rigged voting machines.

Even if who you vote for DOES win by a majority, TPTB may cook the books and not let him win anyway.

Hence, an armed uprising may be necessary.
