Some of the younger members might not be able to fathom this yet, but what is your greatest fear of growing older?

I don't want to become dependent in any shape, form or fashion.

Honestly?

I would not like to die too young and miss experiencing
the joy of participating in the development of my kids
careers and families. Other than that, I am prepared to
encounter whatever illness or decline will be my fortune
knowing that, in the end, we all fade and the exact nature
of our particular illnesses and deaths is completely
meaningless. Of course, if I could choose, I'd go quickly
and quietly in my sleep with no long drawn out burdensome
dependence on others - but wouldn't we all...

Losing my mind, I could cope with not being able to get around ( I think)

I can relate to all of ya. But i guess i can cope with whatever comes along, after all what choice do we have. I talked with a fellow the other day that is 93. Of course he looks like crap but his mind is sharper than mine and he still gets along great. I can't imagine what he's seen in his years and I really like chatting with him.

I agree with Grammy, I don't want to forget who I am. I don't want Alzheimer's. My husband's grandfather will be 102 in a couple of weeks and is still going strong! I want to be like him.

I can't stand the thoughts of not being able to provide my own way, for my children to one day maybe have to become MY "parent", not being able to keep up the pace! I'd rather "check out" first.

Not being able to take care of myself, do what I want & enjoy life.

Ever get to bad off, there will be a huge accident.
