Well I guess this is just a california issue but recently gay marriage was legalized in our state even though 61% of us voted against it 4 judges overturned so we are recalling I guess Yes on 8 says that marriage is between a Man and a woman

what basis do you have to say this

why do you say marriage is only man and woman

just curious

but if using a religous back drop for say it

that is unconstitutional

unconstitutional is a hefty word, and it gets over used imo. the contitution is a set of laws set as a basis for a country. not the entirety of it. lets just vote from now on like we do for the president, the populace votes, the elected offcials ignore us, then vote how they want to,lol.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof

to pass a law passed on a religous belief is passing a law to establish that religion

indeed and violates the seperation of church and state, yet the church is blocking a court appointed mandate ntm harbouring illegal immigrants, their tax exempt status should be revoked. will it be? nope.

Two men or two women being married does not affect my life and anyone elses that isn't the one getting married. Who cares. People that say they are against it, have some other problem other than two men getting married.

Marriage isn't sacred? Since when? hahahahahaha

And the bible is just a book, do you believe everything you read in a book? I don't.

I hate it when people say that it doesn;t affect me or you!!! Its not fair for someone to be forced to marry them if they didn't believe it and then be put in jail away from their wifes and children that;s not cool whatabout our rights in the church ???? Not only that but do you want your 1st or kindergarten child to learn about two men or two women kissing and getting married at such a young age thwy should be learning their name alphabet not about homosexuality that's my main issue and yes that affects me and my future children I need to protect them we do whatever happened to morals????? ( HERE IS A LETTER I RECEIEVED ENJOY)

Dear Friend,
"Just as opponents of Proposition 8 are airing television commercials labeling as a lie the claim that gay marriage will be taught in California public schools unless Proposition 8 is passed, a Massachusetts couple is appearing in a powerful new ‘Yes on 8’ television ad that begins airing today explaining that gay marriage was taught to their seven year old son and his classmates in second grade. Massachusetts legalized gay marriage in 2003 and their public schools actively instruct young children on gay marriage.

Robb and Robin Wirthlin’s seven year old son, Joey, came home from school one day to tell them his teacher had read the class a book about a prince who married another prince and the two men went on to become, “King and King.” The book includes a scene of the two male princes kissing each other.

When the Wirthlins contacted school officials to complain about gay marriage being forced on young children in the Massachusetts public schools, they were told they had no right to control the curriculum, no right to be notified when gay marriage might be taught in school, and no right to pull their child from class."

That has nothing to do with gay marriage..Public schools are ran by the local communities..Thats a issue with the local school board.. I would be banging the doors down..It has nothing to do with the law in Massachusetts. Its a local issue..

Not only is it a LOCAL issue but its also complete bullsh!t. Any sexual eduacation taught in schools is required to go through a PTA led vetting process and the Parents still have the individual right to WITHDRAW their child from the class when its being taught so that they can CHOOSE when and how to educate their children.

This crap about kids being forced to learn about homosexuality is false and nothing more than fear-mongering lies being spread to push a larger issue of denying legal recognition to a group of people that the religious fanatics are terrified of.

edit: Nice link B, thats one of Bobby Kennedy's best speeches ever.

YOU come down to San diego to my school distrcit and tell me that becasue you can say its a lie from where you are in a bubble but until you deal with it on a daily basis then you can say that The school sent out a flyer saying they were going to teach about Harvey milk and have a holiday for him like martin luther king jr MY SCHOOL DISTRICT where I work the parents called and came and complianed and said TEll me when so I can take my kids out knowing that the school looses 38.50 for each kid that is absent and do you know what the school said to all those parents we will not let you know the day we will teach it so you will not know they EVEN TOLD THE CHILDREN NOT TO TELL THEIR PARENTS WHAT THEY LEARNED ;(

I have raised my daughter by myself..Great kid, 4.0 in college..It wasnt taught to her by the schools but I did educate her on accepting others for what they are. She dosnt judge anybody by race, religon or sexual orintation but by who they are and what they do..
