to it means exactly what it says: a person to go and do activities with like walking fishing kayaking etc...am i the last one still using words for their real meaning...??lol

My thoughts exactly! Not everyone wants a romantic relationship, or a roll in the hay. Sometimes it's nice to go do something with someone else behinds just yourself.

I think that it means hanging out with someone who shares the same interest and not looking for a sexual relationship.

I take everything at face value , till proven otherwise or Guilty!!

speaking for me, personally, it means looking for some one to do things with, like bike riding walking, hiking . sharing activities are more fun, then doing them alone and your more likely to do them more often, with some one else. then you are by your self.
looking at most of these replies, people need to pull their minds out of the gutter. if sharing activities meant having sex, then what does "intimate encounters" mean??

long walks in the park, on the beach, or even down a side walk for a while.
it gives people a chance to talk about things, learn about each other in an open in an open safe way. build a friend ship, or possibly a relationship,
when your just meeting some one, it is a great way to relax and spend time getting to know each other,
has no one here, ever heard of courting??

One night stand can be intimate encounter

that could mean a lot of things, getting together when ever time allows, with no expectations. this is more truly defined , as things you would do as friends, then lovers.
sex could be considered an activity, sure. but thats not whats being asked for.. as sex generally comes with a great many strings attached. whether you are aware of them or not.
and that would be an intimate encounter as described. as it clearly states your intention. under the "no strings attached guide line for that purpose.
be it a one night stand, or multiple contacts. it is clearly saying you want intimate contact.
not looking for sharing activities with people that you may have in common.
any one expecting sex and uses activity partner, is clearly being deceptive in their motivation.
by not using the correct descriptive of their intent of seeking an intimate encounter. and being deceptive, generally marks them as being a predator.

any encounter/activity involving sex is by definition intimate.
if thats what is being sought, then thats what should be stated as the intent of contact.
even if it's just a business transaction.
it's best to be honest in your intent. you may find the person your meeting might have a badge and a squad car in your future if your not..

I believe the best way to find out for sure is to just ASK the person what kind of activity it is, since there are so many different scenarios and interpretations it could mean

this would fall under being honest in your intent as well. if sex is not mentioned, dont assume thats what is being asked for.
if they mention in their profile going jogging, and walks. then that is what they want to do.. if they mention camping, bring your own sleeping bag and tent.

I don't do the casual sex thing, I am however interested in the activity partner thing. With a female and preferably with someone my age or older, theatres, shopping cinema etc.
