I've read on these boards support for Gen. Powell, often from posters trying to prove they aren't racist. "I'd vote for Colin Powell if he were running" is the typical refrain. It's sad that people think they have to prove they're not racists, but I digress...

To those currently opposed to Barack Obama, would a Gen. Powell endorsement give you pause to reconsider?

I will not vote for either major party. They are both backed by the same money & neither have the best interest of the average American in mind or heart.

My answer is NO.

I've never denied being racist on here and I've never tried to prove that I wasn't.

However, a select few believe that I am and I've never really disputed the claim. I just let the chips fall where they may.

Collin Powell - Ok maybe

Sen Obama - Not really

The Rev. Jackson - Gag a maggot

So, what your saying is, your voting for Obama, because that's probably who your vote is going to.

You can be honest about such things, it's not the 60's anymore like when Bradley was running for Gov. of CA.

How 'bout Bill Richardson? Alberto Gonzalez, maybe?

Um, I think the Democrats are considered a major party.

How about Samuel L. Jackson?

Hell yes, if he would use the phrase "Waste the Motherfackers".

Your right, I should have added, "by voting independent or not voting at all" in there.

I'm saying that voting independent, it is most likely going to count towards Obama. Not too many people deny this.

I have voted Demcratic in the past because I felt I was helping the Repulicans by voting independant. I am now thinking that the more people who vote "anything other than" the 2 choices that are crammed down our throats are at least sending the message we are not buying it. Maybe if more people vote independant thier will be some momentum.

I'll deny that. Nader voters will lessen Obama totals. Nader probably cost Gore the election on 2000. Well, besides Katherine Harris.

It won't count towards Obama, but by him giving him less votes, it may help Mc Cain. I think about this, but I am sick of voting for the lessor of 2 evils.

That's true. Funny, way back early in the primaries, a survey I took ID'd Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich as the candidates most aligned with my beliefs.

I think his people went with Ron Paul this year, thinking he had a better chance.
