why dont date sites give I.Q test as a way of helping people find a more suitable companion. It only stands to reason that somewhere along the line this will play a factor in compatability.
it could be factored in with the mutual match ..so that its not public..i mean i could see someone telling someone else in the the forums..nope i cant date you cause it says right here that youre dumber than a box of rocks..so in that aspect not making it public would be a good thing ..ok i know its not one of those rate my profile or am i pretty questions, but do they have to be..or is intelligence something we dont factor in when choosing a mate...

I.Q. is only an indicator of relative intelligence. There are some people out there with very high I.Q.'s that are " dumber than a box of rocks " because they have little real world experience.

That number is not, in my opinion, a good indicator of how " smart " a person is.

Iq test Dna test compatibility test..ability to read the other persons mind test. std test background test test of truth test of wills test to see if the person will be around for awhile. /\test if they care

why not just get to know them?

Because of what you said....people are judged enough on there looks, so bringing in the IQ test would only bring in more hipocrits.

Thats why you get to know someone before you make any kind of commitment. If you cant tell if you and another person are intllectualy compatable after getting to know them for a month or so, then you'd probably fail any kind if IQ test.

IQ tests don't cover Common Sense and that is a big thing with me. Also kind of slanted against people who are not second generation W.A.S.P.'s.

Some sites do have various personality tests. Don't know that they are all that accurate.

Because most people on dating sites would never achieve the minimum score.

And a site with a reputation for saying, "Hey, your best intellectual match is an amoeba" would end up losing a lot of members.

I like this idea!

The low I.Q. horny ladies can match up with me.

What a great OUT line! We aren't that smart, but we sure have a lot of FUN!!

Oh...squirrel heaven!! Let's not be too smart to hook up and enjoy each other, ladies and gents, because with a lower I.Q., no explanation is needed!!! Wooohooo!!!

They told me 20% of everybody who takes that thing is unmatchable!

But after I saw the scary people on their commercials, I didn't feel so bad....

Sigh. Yours is higher than mine, smarty pants. And yet... both single. Although I'm (at the moment) having more fun than you because, well because I adoped my reckless abandon thing.

Mine is high, but I bet yours is higher.

And I'll be single a lot longer than you will be, unless Lyndsey has an epiphany (that's a kid of butterfly with yellow wings) and figures it out....and doesn't run away screaming (that's another inside joke)....

Let's face it, you're just a lot better-adjusted than I am. How many dates have you had since we started talking? A bunch. (OK, let's not get into the quantity-vs.-quality thing, it completely ruins my point here.) I had seven months of a resurrected old relationship that was really good at the time, but it didn't work out because I'm actually too good at helping people.

I still think you're doing better than I am. At least people are TRYING to date you (albeit ineffectively; but, again, I can't bring that up because it doesn't help my argument)!

I'd rather have people express a legitimate interest than have them say "My friend likes you but she's intimidated because you used the word 'balustrade' in a post back in February of 2007" or something....!

It's easier not to have to read all the drivel that proves it, though....!

Very true, but dumb people say the funniest of things sometimes.
