How many men and woman would be comfortable and accepting of a potential spouse digging up your past and gathering information on your credit...?

I would see if he is one to borrow money without payback or borrow money with payback, but ideally you don't want to be in a relationship with someone that borrows money at all. The frequency of borrowing money really matters here.

How long has he been without a job? Remember this is a recession so it may just be a temporary financial matter. What jobs did he hold? How much income does he make per year? What's his salary? "

If I were in a serious relationship with the future dealing with marriage or shared debts, I would want to know if he were fiscally responsible. I would expect him to be forthcoming on his own. If he wasn't, I'd have to seriously consider the relationship. It's reasonable to be forthcoming with each other.

You can go about it in one of two ways:




1. Ask him all those questions, one at a time over a period of months. Then ask again after a sufficient time period to see if his answers agree with his first answers. If something seems fishy or too good to be true, it probably is. Someone who has too good to be true answers would be the first one to prove it to you without asking.


2. Get on the internet, do a search for his name and address and elementary school, high school, etc. You can get a lot of juicy information this way without him ever knowing.
When he pays for things, make sure you note how he pays, whether it be cash or credit or debit. if it's debit, look at which bank he banks at. If it's a visa or mastercard, what kind? Capital One is a poor man's credit card, anyone with crappy credit can get one, Imagine card is the same. American express is only a positive if the other person owns a business since you only GAIN rewards if you have a revolving spending of $5000 and even $10,000 a month. anything less and the annual fee swaps the benefits and you'd be dating a retard. Chase is GOOD. Discover sucks unless he works for the CITY because the city government only accept Discover. Discover isn't widely accepted in small businesses because of their high fees.
