Theres no charge to work for either. Anything that asks you to pay to sign up is most likely a scam and I would stay away.

No, I was referring to West at Home and Teletech. For West apply at www.westathome.com and for Teletech go to www.teletech.com/en-US/careers/

Im not sure, but I THINK teletech wants money upfront from you, unless Im reading this wrong:

"How much does TeleTech charge for its services?
Pricing varies by client and by the scope of services provided to each customer. Designing customer management programs for clients can be complex and requires thorough analysis of project requirements and client needs to determine the price for TeleTech services."

Oh, n btw, if u dont mind me asking, why did u leave teletech? They have hb n other perks that the other one doesnt...just curious.

Teletech charges customers for their services not people that work for them. I worked in an actual call center for them and later transferred to working at home. I ended up losing my position because I had some stuff come up and I couldn't adhere to my schedule at the time.

oh ok. thanx for straightening out the confusion. U mentioned before how u wouldnt work for a plc where u had to pay 1st; yeah, me neither, but there are just so many out there ready to rip u off, so I had to post something here to see what I could find. thx for ur input. flowerforyou

No problem.
I like West better because I can set my schedule. Teletech gives you a set schedule, but they also offer some benefits that West doesn't. I guess it's all in what you're looking for. Personally I like flexibility.

yeah me too. Hey everyone, Ive included a copy of my conversation with a live op from teletech for all to view to see if it helps with ne of ur questions:

Posted below are the steps for the recruitment of TeleTech @Home application. Please be guided accordingly.

1. Once you have submitted your application online, our recruiters will review your resume if you meet the requirements. An email confirmation serves as a receipt that your application went through our system.
2. All new candidates who pass the prescreening and reside in a Teletech@Home location are sent the correspondence "E-mail: @Home - Tech Eval link Email" The e-mail contains instructions on how you can go about with your application.
3. You will have to complete the initial computer and network connectivity assessment. If your computer successfully passed, the at home recruiters will send you an e-mail with instructions on how to complete the Technical Evaluation Assessment and Matchpoint Skills Assessment.
4. Upon completing and passing these assessments, you will be scheduled for the session.
5. After attending the session, you will be scheduled for an interview by the @Home recruiters.
6. If you successfully pass interview, you will be mailed a Workbooth disk and instruction on how to run the disk.
7. Usually, as this depends on the volume of applicants, you will receive the Workbooth disk after 7 to 10 working days,.
8. Also, the @Home recruiters will make you an offer and provide you with a schedule for work, training and WorkBooth session. They will also send you a new hire packet, sign a few forms and mail it back to us.
9. Approximately, two days before your training is due to start, our training department will contact you to introduce themselves, provide you on how to join a class, ask a few administration questions and answer any questions you may have.
10. Prior to training, we will also mail you a training manual and set you up with the appropriate system logins.

For some process, you will be notified of your status and the next step via email. I suggest, you may regularly check your e-mail for any updates.

me : It would prob be best to apply wen Im at my own pc, correct?

Ann : Yes that would be better

me : I hve windows 98 on my pc. do u knw offhand if I can do this job with that system?

Ann : What i know is that you need a more advanced operating system for you to be able to pass the PC assessment

me : so it would prob be in my best interest to upgrade to like vista, windows xp or 2000?

Ann : Yes that would be more appropriate

me : also, does it cost ne thing to get started? do I have to send the co ne $ to do this frm home? if so, Im not interested cause of a lot of scams out there

Ann : You just have to create a profile in HirePoint.com and apply for the post, then wait for a response from our @Home recruiters

me : is c/s avail 24/7 in case I have problems or questions once I get started?

Ann : I can actually give you our toll free number so that an @Home recruiter can assist you better. You may contact our recruiters at 1-866-796-5485, then choose option 1. You can call from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM EST, Mondays to Fridays.

me : how often do work at home ppl get paid and how do they get paid

Ann : The pay rate for the current program is $9.25/hour + Agent Variable Pay (incentive pay based on call handling performance).
Ann : The hours of operation for the current program is 6:00am-6:00pm (Mountain time), 7 days a week, including holiday.

me : does the co offer hb and other bnfts?

Ann : TeleTech@Home’s benefits include:
• $50/month HRA (Health Reimbursement Account)
• Employee Discounts with TeleTech’s many partnerships including: Dell and Mac Computers, Ford Motor Company cars and many others.
• After a certain time period, you may also apply for other company jobs throughout the world.

me : wat do u mean by health reimbursement acct?
am I paying ne thing that has to be reimbrsd?
me : after a certain time period, what do u mean? I cant work for ne 1 else at home while working for this co?

Ann : Regarding the benfits, it is actually discussed during the offer
Ann : these are all the only information that we are allowed to discuss. The benefits are discussed further during the job offer

me : so u cant tell me what health reimb acct means? or the other questn?

apparently not. contact a recruiter at the # she gave to learn more. I also noticed she didnt answer my questn of how often and how u get paid, but Ill connect again to see if theyll tell me. Just wanted to share all info possible so I can help you all the best I can. Ill let u knw wat I find out.

Ok. As far as West at home goes, sounds pretty good. no fees unless you need to get certain equipment like a headset and you pay for that and ne other equip required that you dont have (they offer a discount for shopping with certain cos listed on their site) , paid every other monday (they prefer by dir dep) and they have support 24/7.

If your looking for particular answers, theres a faq's page, and on it, a support console at the very bottom of the faq pg to help you find a lot of info. You have a total of 8 pgs of questions to choose from. Im trying to find out if its avail in my area yet (I may have to actually apply to find that out tho cause it just says its available in most -well, so was the other one and it excluded mine) and heres a list of non-recommended software (so what if you have these, do you have to disable em or remove em cause I dont wanna do that?):
