People still need stuff. You gotta think about whether the things you are selling are the things people will wanna buy in the future.

If you are selling large engine gas guzzling cars, you might wanna think about selling smaller more economical ones instead, for example.

There is going to be a huge shift in the type of products people buy. But people will still be buying products. Your best bet is to try to stay a step in front of the other salesmen out there.

If you are good at selling, you can sell anything. Just choose the right thing to sell.

I sell kitchen appliances...its still slow. Don't people have to replace their stove and refrigerator? I took this job because I thought it would be the best bet with times as they are. They keep putting more sales people on the floor too...so its really hard to keep a step ahead.

I try to cover all my bases and work different angles: regular, part-time, entrepreneurial. Still, sometimes, it's hard to have fun.

People only HAVE to replace things like that if the things they already have stop working.

At the end of the day if people have less money, they have less buying power. There are things that can be done, like offering more credit or some kind of payment plan. That would depend more on your employers to introduce that kind of thing though.

I think you will find that people will be demanding more budget goods. If you need a kettle because the one you have broke, but you have very little money, that nice chrome one will have to wait, and the cheap white plastic one will have to do.

I am surprised the shop business is down. People would maintain there cars and hang on to them it would seem. Of course with credit so tight you have to save to even do that.

I would think selling freezers would pick up. Save money buying in quanity or going to the store less often. I know that is how I save with mine. I am eating out a LOT less.

actually people hate plastic and will search for a deal so if your in the used business they come to you for the namebrand used so they can get a good deal and still have nice things ...

The whole economy is in grid lock. Nothing is selling, if the stock market and real estate keeps going down people will be left with nothing.sad sad
