When i was younger,
I learned to build a wall.
It started out little,
But grew very tall.

I would hide behind it,
Staying just out of site.
Always out of reach,
Holding with all my might.

One day I met a girl,
She made me come out from behind.
I was happy with her,
She was such a good find.

But as the days always end,
So did the love we had.
To deal with that pain
Made me almost mad.

So I built a bigger wall,
And even added a shell.
I will not be hurt again.
For this I knew well.

But once again, i found one who
Made me feel again.
But this is now,
And that was then.

My wall is strong,
So thick and so tall.
I stand there hidng,
Waiting for the call.

And when that time finally arrives,
I wish to leave that wall.
Leave it behind me,
Once and for all.

Only a true love can save me.
One that makes me think clear.
For to not find love,
That is what I now fear.

Time does not wait,
My body grows old.
I must try my hardest,
to not let my heart grow cold.

And as my wall begins to crumble,
And turns into dust,
To live my life with her,
The one that I trust.

I will throw away my tools,
And hold on to her tight.
She has saved me!
I know I am right.

And when I look back on my years,
I will see the remnants of my wall.
I have overcame the obstacles,
And I am standing tall.

Never to go back to it,
That is my new goal.
To find the true love
That will save and fill my soul.
