Topic: What is the proper ettiquette...

I communicate well most people just make a friend request.I get alot of locals emailing and I'm not up for meeting them I was trying to be funny and I guess I wasn't. I am sorry. maybe I got sensitive for a minute,I just recently appologised to someone for making a funny comment as well.

I would return to the scene of the crime, the offending thread, and poat an apology there. Seems right to me. I did that, thanks. If you've already apologized, don't worry about it anymore. They can either accept your apology or not. You've done what you thought was right by apologizing.

It depends on what you said and exactly how it was taken, but i wouldnt worry too much about offending people. Some people just dont know how to take a joke or an opinion thats different from theirs. I'll apologise if i really have been out of line, but im not gonna apologise solely because somebody got offended. Sometimes it should be the offended people that apologise for getting offended.

I think an apology is always a good thing. Showes character and careing that everyone has a good experience. If it is genuine and not demanding most people will eventually accept it. If they don't at least you made an effort. There are going to be times when you say something that other people are going to take as a personal shot or maybe just flops as humor or just is a difference of opinion that was taken as a personal judgement rather than an a general observation. Lot of people out there with a lot of different experiences and views. I find myself editing or qualifying a lot of what I say as "take it or leave it but it is NEVER EVER personal". Rarely will I cut up and be smart ass with people in open forums because someone had to take the money and run and perverts gross me out when they take something that should be a little sassy and make it filthy or disrespectful. If it is a fine line type of call I just ignore it but the over the top stuff I would just rather avoid. Too bad because just because I am older doesn't mean I am a priss. I have a sense of humor that I would like to bring in to discussions and don't mind saying something that by good fortune plays on a gaff or intential set up of another. Even if it is me that sounds like the goof sometimes. At my age if you can't laugh at yourself occassionally you are going to do a lot of crying. What does discourage me sometimes is the number of people who seem to take so much of this as life or death serious and cherry pick things that are said assumeing the malice or deception is intended. I feel bad that so many people have gotten the rotten end of the social contract but seems like some are really eager to pounce on innocent or at least mostly innocent people.
