Last week I met for the first time with my Japanese tutor. She is a graduate student from Japan at a local university. I just emailed a local professor asking for a tutor because I wanted to learn the language (I am not in college)
Today was my second lesson and for one I noticed that she just put on perfume which was nice. She is always complimenting me, she taught me for an extra half an hour for free and then wanted to just sit and talk for about 20 min after that. She is always smiling, asking a lot of questions about my interests and seems really interested. She also asked if it would be ok if every week after our sessions we could just have coffee and talk. I kind of feel like she is hitting on me lol. What do you think? |

It could be that is hitting on you. You may want to clear that up though, particularly if you're not interested in her....

Well, I am single and she is kind of cute. It could just be a cultural gap and I don't want to make things weird since she is my tutor. I wont be upset either way, but I also dont want to make things awkward, so I will just let see how it goes.

LOL you guys are funny. You know Japan is not some under developed country right? I seriously doubt she would bother trying to get a green card, not to mention it probably wouldnt be hard if you are already a graduate student here. (and this university isnt cheap)
(btw does he come from a good family? that sounds indian to me, not japanese) Like I said, I am not too worried either way. I need a tutor, I have only lived here 2 months so I could use more friends, and I am single. Either way it works out for me. |
