Nope. I've tried them many ways, but can't stand them. I loathe the country gravy over biscuits thing too.  I once saw my grandfather (from Virginia), make gravy with grease he'd fried chicken in. I think I ran to the bathroom at that moment to expel everything in my GI tract....
But I'm a yankee, so all this should not be so shocking. Now give me a raw oyster or quahog.... yum yum yum.

I'm southern but I don't like grits. But then there's G.R.I.T.S (Girls raised in the south) in that case, we're not so bad! I've heard they're pretty good.

OR some of my bacon gravy over Popeye's Bisquits!! I've been told my gravy is so good it makes ya wanna jump up and slap your grandma!! Noone let's me get away with not making it when a big breakfast is being cooked! But GRITS!! Ugggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!! |

Big ole blackbear ground round chuck. Couple eggs over easy and some wheat toast. And for dessert? Yup a small bowl of grits with butter and blackcap jelly. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Big ole boarsteak. Some scrambled eggs with pinto and cherry peppers diced in and a fresh half an orange squeezed over the top. Texas toast. And yup for dessert you guessed it- small bowl of grits with butter and grape marmalade. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Fresh surf n swim. Walleye cleaned fryin in drakes in a frypan full of green heineken beer. Beaver steaks on a skewer over an open fire marinated in orange marmalade. And for dessert? Yup. Small bowl of grits with sharp cheddar and bacon pieces. Mmmmmmmmmm
