I just listened to the whole red sox game from a boston station and it never froze up. I watch videos and never a problem. Maybe you need to give it more space to use.

I've traditionally had a problem with video files with Firefox. Either the browser will lock up, or the video will get all weird on me.

However, there ARE alternatives- get "Download Helper", "mediaplayerconnectivity", and "Download Them All!" extensions for Firefox to be able to download them to your hard drive. That way, you won't have to deal with trying to play the vids via your browser.

FF 3 is ok but occasionally at very unpredictable times will crash. I can use Google Chrome or IE to access the site that crashed and it/they will work. If I try to go back with FF 3 it will crash again.

I suspect it has something to do with Java but I can't be sure. If you keep getting errors on a particular site with FF 3, don't keep trying, just switch to another browser and see if that one works.

I have to use IE for my job. (This is because corporations are contracted to Microsoft to keep their servers running! Stick it to THE MAN!!! No, wait... forget I said that...) I don't use IE unless I absolutely have to.

I hope this was helpful. yours in Chaos, Scarlett

i also think it has something to do with Java because it only does it in situations when Java is in use

how is Google Chrome?i've thought about trying it and i might switch if FF3 keeps doing this!

I've heard a lot of people are having various troubles with Firefox 3. So I didn't install it. Everything's fine for me.

ok i think i fixed the problem.i uninstalled it then reinstalled it.

i think the problem was that i installed it while it was still in beta and once it officially came out,it never switched over to the full new version but so far so good

IMO, disable media player and use some open source, like
www.vlc.com
AND look to www.majorgeeks.com for some alternative resources, for example, realalt, which has no spyware and does not have a home phone to phone home to.

check all the boxes when installing vlc. it plays everything, even flv files, but real player files, hence the alt above ~ vlc is a web streaming server platform that has no frills, but allot of power and zero spyware ever, unlike Micro$oft's Media Player and most others...

also, i put up some make firefox faster settings on one of these recent threads, soryy, don't have the link for that handy.
