Topic: Browsers - What do you use? | |
---|---|
There is a browser which I am sure most everyone knows about called Flock. It's similar to FF but I think I like it better. I don't use FF anymore, much to my surprise. I guess because this starts faster, uses plugins that haven't made it to FF3 yet and is easy to use. What browser do you use and why?

I prefer to use Netscape version 3. It's not always possible, but I like the user interface of that one much better than later generation browsers. It's nice that someone asked about this stuff. |

Firefox 3 and Chrome. I only use IE in case of dire emergency (and in work where there is no alternative).

Hello tnkitty:
I still use FF3... and only IE when a website write proprietary MS HTML code that FF3 does not yet render. :) I also use Mozilla Thunderbird, but because of the many bugs and instability that I have found, I have gone to the portable version available at http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/thunderbird_portable... because the entire application is in (1) folder... I can copy it as a backup to another location... and secure 100% reliability in under 30 secs. :) Hope this helps! Alan |

Wow Netscape eh? Been a while. As for IE, yeah.... Emergencies only but then.... that's really what causes the emergencies. I use Opera too once in a while. I downloaded Chrome not too long ago but felt so limited although I didn't use it enough to really say that. I'll go back to it and check it out. Although this is off topic, I saw Tron last night finally for the first time. It sure took me back.... haha!

I usually use Firefox just because I like it and it's got more protection against viruses and malware. And I've yet to check out Chrome.

I'm currently using Firefox, but want to give Chrome a try if google ports it over to Linux like they said they would.
