On the toolbar, Help, About

What version of Firefox is running? It might help to download the latest version, if you don't have it. (Should be 3.03 now.)

Ooops. I think it's 8.

Hello Winx:

I do most of my Google research using their advanced feature, which you can find at: http://www.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en

Also, another excellent search engine I have found... actually a meta search engine, meaning it utilizes multiple SE's simultaneously is: http://clusty.com/search?&form=advanced&v%3aframe=form& ... again the advance page. It will find things Google does not... and it organizes it in a tree on the left side by topics.

Hope this proves helpful, sooner than later!

Alan :)

Yeah if you want your encryption torn to crap and a slower browser, by all means, get rid of FF.

Keep FireFox and download Windows Live for your email client. It'll make your life much easier. If you want your system to process faster, just set it to performance.

You might also try downloading all the correct plugins.

I may have discovered why I can't open attachments on my Yahoo email addy.

When I bought the computer, Best Buy said that they deleted all of Norton and McAfee and downloaded Trend Security.

When I try to open an attachment, it won't open. It says that it is being virus checked by Norton. But..if I look for Norton in programs, it says that it is empty.

I'm thinking that Best Buy didn't delete all of Norton.grumble

3.0 or highr is not compatible with the "bit torrent" tool bar...

Just 3? Not 3.0.3?

Norton can be very tricky to get rid of. There used to be a removal tool online, but not sure if it works with Vista. It's not something you can just uninstall and be done. I would take it back to Best Buy and make 'em fix it!

Since they have already tried to uninstall/delete or whatever they have done, the removal tool may not work.......but you could always google it and see.

So? I don't believe anyone in the thread said they were trying to use that...

Actually after SP1 came out Vista isn't so bad, unless you still have an old system.
