Just 3? Not 3.0.3? Okay - 3.03. I would suggest you try using thunderbird (hang on and let me find out if you can use it with yahoo first though, since it's webmail ). http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/ Other than that you can try using another browser. Not sure why Firefox would be having issues with yahoo though. Mine works fine. Ok yahoo will work, but you need an extension for webmail for thunderbird found here: http://webmail.mozdev.org/ You may want to have your friend's IT son help you with this as it looks like it might be a little difficult to set up. In the meantime, do you have an icon for internet explorer or a run command on your Windows start menu? Yes, I have an icon for IE. Yeah, I may have to call my friend's son back. I paid him good money for his work. I had called him and told him that I was having problems emailing and he said that he thought I needed to call my DSL provider. It worked with the old computer and doesn't now. And not being able to open attachments???? |

If that's the case, it's probably not anything with the browser. |

My experience is that alternate browsers are great for those that don't mind a little tinkering. But I've had problems at times that I couldn't resolve.... and that's a lot of what i do for a living. If you recommend an alternate browser to a friend, be prepared to be their tech support. Hmmm....so my friend's IT son that hooked up and installed everything should be prepared to be my support? Pretty sure it was an implied contract |

I worked for MS for nearly a year. As far as my family is concerned, I AM tech support.

Wiley,
I downloaded this: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1271 You won't believe this. Now.... At the top where it says most visted, getting started, latest headlines..... There is this youtube address from a link that I looked at from here last night. And I looked at a few. It's a stupid Sesame Street video that Kirk put up. Why is it there? |

It just says that I can't do it. They have Adobe so I downloaded Adobe. Now I can reply back to the teachers that have already emailed me. But..I can't email them otherwise. Oh, yeah, I have Trent anti-spy if that matters. I haven't had them before either. |

(Unless Dell set up the address for their tech support page in the IE icon.) To make it your homepage in IE also, you can click on Tools, Options, Internet Settings Then on the General tab make sure "http://www.yahoo.com" is in the box under "Homepage." Click Apply, Ok. |

Update: I just confirmed the webmail addon for thunderbird does indeed work for yahoo. I am downloading messages now. If you want, I can walk you through setting that up. (It's easier than I thought.)
