I have a new computer (Dell) and with it, for the first time, Vista and Firefox.

When I do a search, it connects me to one source only. It's not even a link, it's the page. I can't get around it. I don't like that!!!

Has anyone else run into this?

Also, I can't open my attachments in my personal email account.
And...I can't email most people on my contact list.

Help!

Firefox Search Sidebar -- Search multiple search engines with one query.

Firefox doesn't really include a search function by default, but the add-on above sounds like it would be useful for you.

What email client were you using before? What email client are you using now?

yahoo isn't a client. Are you using yahoo.com?, outlook?, outlook express?, thunderbird?

That's what I heard too. That's why I got it.

But...I don't know why I'm having the problems that I'm having.

I guess it's yahoo.com. I've never heard of the other ones that you're mentioning.

Yep, I'm computer illiterate, can ya tell?

On the toolbar, Help, About

What version of Firefox is running? It might help to download the latest version, if you don't have it. (Should be 3.03 now.)

My experience is that alternate browsers are great for those that don't mind a little tinkering. But I've had problems at times that I couldn't resolve.... and that's a lot of what i do for a living. If you recommend an alternate browser to a friend, be prepared to be their tech support.

I would suggest you try using thunderbird (hang on and let me find out if you can use it with yahoo first though, since it's webmail frustrated).

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/

Other than that you can try using another browser. Not sure why Firefox would be having issues with yahoo though. Mine works fine.

Ok yahoo will work, but you need an extension for webmail for thunderbird found here: http://webmail.mozdev.org/

You may want to have your friend's IT son help you with this as it looks like it might be a little difficult to set up.

In the meantime, do you have an icon for internet explorer or a run command on your Windows start menu?
