Over the weekend I got in to a argument with my Ex Wife, and of all things over Spongebob. Well, she hates spongebob and it is one of the few cartoons my son likes that doesn't drive me nuts. Well, she is throwing a fit that I let him watch it and she has banned him from NICK totally... Well, here is the stupid part, she Lets him watch CONSTANTINE, a "R" rated movie for language and Violence and see's nothing wrong with that...

Am I missing something here?

shshs Now I don't care for SpongeBob just me my grand daughter loves it and watches it all the time. I figure I'm old school and would rather her watch Bugs Bunny or Road Runner ect... But........that was my days and these are hers. So needless to say she watches SpongeBob lol

IMO, instead of making sure the child's best interest is a priority, she's making sure that showing you her power is the priority.

It's funny how when your married something like this would just be a disagreement or difference of opinion, but when it's your ex wife saying it, it becomes a big power trip.

Communicating about a difference of opinion can still happen, even with an ex. Just takes one of the people involved to extend that olive branch eh? It's called compromise!

Anyhow......we watch Sponge Bob daily around here.....

She is not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer, I have had some Dumb Arguments with her..

There was this one episode when Spongebob went to live with the Jelly fishes, and Patrick missed him and tried to catch spongebob and keep him in a jar. Well, my ex freaked on that...

Maybe she needs a child development or parenting class. She's losing sight of the fact that the child is the priority.

i never let my son watch barney or mr rodgers
but he grew up watching freddy and nightmare on elm street

in all honesty.. i dont let my kids watch spongebob either...

i wouldnt let them watch an r rated movie..

but i dont allow spongebob at my house..

many of the remarks in that show are to adult and my children are at the parot stage... and i dont want it repeated..


but that is soley my opinion.. i have told my parents and my babysitter that i prefer that it not be watched at all... but that i do beg for a MINIMUM of it to be watched.. both have respected my wishes.. and kept it to an absolute minimum..
