Does anyone get anxious the day before they go back to work? It seems every Sunday I start to get anxious knowing I have work tomorrow. Once I am there I am fine. I have worked in this field for 17 years and I dont know why this is. Anyone else and if so how do you deal with it?

Honestly I REALLY feel your pain on this one. We are so busy at work that I really dread getting back into the mess on Monday mornings explode

yes i do its i'm getting older. and the young new workers are so eager to replace anyone .and its the older or unskilled getting replaced. and at times when i'm sick or just feeling down i get that way. and i just watch some joel osteen tapes and pray , mostly pray that gives me the courage and hope i need to make it thru the week.

I used to feel that way when I was in the corporate world. The stress and pressure of deadlines, trying to bridge the gap between the users and the geeks (programmers) and the general politics of that world took me over the edge eventually. Monitor yourself and see if the feelings get worse. If so, talk to someone about it before you break.

I have worked at home for a long time, and I work almost every day, so: No. A lot of the time the fact that it's Monday is sort of a shock, in fact. yours in Chaos, Scarlett

Ahem.

You're the one with the degree/experience in why people's minds work a certain way.

Me? Tell you anything?

Don't stop at MacDonald's. Go to Skipper's, for a seafood platter.
Better yet, indulge in a smorgasboard at an Orietal food place.
Put that on top of your Monday Things To Do list, ...and then pick another one for Tuesday, and Wednesday, etc.

I've been off 2 weeks with a kiddo recuperating from surgery and am finally going back tomorrow (was supposed to go back mid last week, but she had complications). Funny you mentioned this, because I was having some anxious feelings about returning. I have been back to my second part-time job already but that is doing home health physical therapy and for some reason that never makes me anxious. My full time job often does. I think other posters are right in that there's more stress involved in my full time job and more interaction with co-workers and grumpy clients, etc.

I know once I get going tomorrow it'll be just like I never was gone so it's just forcing myself to have a positive outlook. That's how I deal with it. Force it.....hehehe.

I've read your posts before and you have great insight. Just thought I'd tell you your not alone.

I feel that way a lot of the time lately. Has been a shortage of work, in fact, I have 8+ hours leave without pay on this check coming up due to lack of work. I never know how much work (if any) will be there for me until I get there, so I have been stressing over it.

I recently took on a 2nd job to help with the missing hours, but that probably adds to the stress, now have more deadlines to meet.

Your job is what I always wanted to do after seeing the movie Manic. Turns out I hate people, especially those with behavioral problems. lol

I say buy a hot tub and soak in it every Sunday night with a glass of wine while cursing at the world.
