this is my two cents about slavery. It is true that slavery had existed long before the "slave trade", however for the most part it was a system of indentured servitude. In fact in Africa, Greece, Rome and other countries they were even allowed to own property, marry into the families they served and even hold office. The slavery that we know, was so insidious because it striped people of their humanity. I am frankly tired of people using the fact that tribe sold other tribes as a pass for what was they did. And it makes absolutely no sense to give credit to anyone for righting something that was wrong to begin with. Lastly on the subject of guilt. Riddle me this, how often have you felt guilty about something you don't think, feel or engage in? Would it make you feel better to know, that George Washington's second in command (kinda) was his slave, that rode side by side with him. He even had his own horse! or that the slaves in the Alamo were freed before the battle and refused to leave and died with the rest of the defenders and are listed equally on the roll of heroes (thats not really appropos of anything, just a kind of a cool story) |

In spite of the media's attempts to make me feel ashamed of myself. My skin is still white. I am still male. am I predjuced.... What utter nonsense. inside my skin beats a human heart. That is what ultimately drives my decisions... Not my skin which is but a cover upon my soul. But my human heart. what drives you?  I DEMAND THAT YOU APOLIGIZE TO ME FOR BEING WHITE

If the media is the problem get rid of the problem...it's discerning that you allow others invent your character. You should be proud of who ever you are White, Black or other. I love some of all races because of the character of the person who has proved worthy of my affection and love. Stay positive!!

yanno how much genetic difference there is between black and white? about .001% i dont beleive that. too many illnesses tend to target one race or another increasingly. sounds like a wives tale to me,lol. |
