“The Person Within”

Do you really know who I’m?
Have you really taken the time?
You see if only you would look deep into these eyes.
I do not hide behind a disguise.

I have realized that some have no clue.
For they look at me from a different view.
You see I’m no different then you are.
At times I can even be a bit bizarre.

I’m a woman with a big heart.
That would gladly stand by you from the start.
But then I have noticed some don’t see.
The person behind these words is me.

Some have never really taken the time.
To see what is behind my words of rhyme.
I have my ups and downs just like you do.
And I tend to voice my point of view.

Yes I do have a voice and will say what I think.
My life is not always in sync.
I try not to meddle in others life.
For we all must deal with our own strife.

I’m not saying that we should not vent.
For we all must too and extent.
But in the end we must decide ourselves.
If we put our problems off or put them high upon the shelves.

They will still be there when you go back to look.
I’m sure I could sit here and write a book.
About what happened in my past.
But to another it would be no contrast.

To the things they have had to endure.
From what I have heard I’m sure.
My life has actually been mild to some.
In the end it is who I have become.

You see these things are what I’m made of.
I have learned what it means to love.
And I have dealt with a broken heart.
When the one I loved decided to depart.

But you see all that is a part of me.
If only some really took the time too see.
For too many only see what they want too.
And never take the time to pursue.

And really get to know the person within.
But one will never know till they take the time and begin.
To know the real person that is inside.
You see there is much more then what is on the outside.
