I am not the most outgoing guy, but I will be if I can find somthing that we have in common. I don't like small talk mutch and I just wanna meet someone who wants to cut the stuped **** and just get down to learning about eachother. What am I doing wrong.

it sounds like your not doing anything wrong. it just takes awhile to find the right person... just be patient and you never know you could meet her when the least expected

Best thing to do is post often in the forums and allow people to get to know you and be comfortable in speaking to you...this is a close knit community with tons of loving and caring people....welcome and have a blast!bigsmile flowerforyou

I do not know you at all...so who am I to judge what you are doing "wrong"?

The only thing I can suggest is be willing to actually LISTEN to the "small talk" as there is VOLUMES spoken in the most minute details. That you can TRUST!

What's your hurry? Slow down and enjoy the scenery. It's not like you are going to lose out by going that route. Besides, your young. You got plenty of time to find Mrs.Right!

Good Luck and Welcomeflowerforyou

Does anyone but me find this rather unpleasantly manipulative and confrontational?

You're saying "I'm sort of shy" which is cool but then we find that to impress you one must "cut the stuped [sic] sh!t and get down to learning about each other". And then "what am I doing wrong" (no question mark, but I assume it's a question)

This is the type of post that really brings out my inner troll.

And yet I will resist the urge to tell you what I think you're "doing wrong", and say "welcome!" (See how easy being manipulative and creepy is for a true master of the art? You have much to learn, grasshopper!)

Yes, I did also, Scarlett...but, I was trying my darndest to be "nice". *sighs*

The only other comment I would make to the OP is if he wishes to deem something "stupEd"...he may just wanna consider...MAYBE...spelling stupId correctly. I swear I don't mean that as a spelling smackdown...

...just sayin'...

Again, best of luck to ya'...take a breath...LISTEN to the small stuff...and just enJOY! flowerforyou

Yeah...I mow the lawn and read cooking instructions on microwave entrees, too. Both good things that single guys should do, but not leave a day job over it.

I'd wish you luck, but the fact is, it would sound transparent and fishy. Just stick your neck out in the forums (because ANYBODY that asks for people to stop talking online is SCAM #1. You wouldn't want that to be your reputation.)

I got the same negative vibe as ya all did. When you start hearing things in chorus' you might want to listen.

I agree with Silverjoy on this one!

It stuck out at me when ya said ur not interested in small talk, thats where most of the learning about another comes from!

Also, by saying ur not into smalltalk, it could make a person think ur not interested in socialising with them, unless its always serious chat, a bit of a put off imo.

communication is the key.... talking about only what you want to talk about doesnt work never will... actually its quite selfish and self centered.. what is considererd to be small stuff to you may not be so small to someone else... i find it appauling that you are already before talking to someone that you are insinuating that they are stupid.. best of luck .. you need it.. learn to communicate and try to not be selfish maybe that will help you

Be yourself, and keep in mind in a forum where the written word is your sword, use spellcheck.

If you expect negative outcomes you'll usually get them. Be positive and optimistic, things can always be worse. But they rarely get better unless you strive for that.
