This may be out there somewhere, and I think it could be in either topic, but I think it goes better here in my opinion because it deals more with being a Christian than what your political idea is from my vantage point because I think your religion might have more weight than your political persuasion or rather it influences your political affiliation. Anywho... I once dated a guy who said it was impossible to be Christian and a liberal because to be liberal meant that you had to entertain ideas that were incongruant with a Christian life so you would in essence turn your back on the other to follow the other's ideology. Any thoughts?  I think the man that told you that was a fool.

People who's beliefs are consistently at odds with not only science, but basic logic. |

I don't think god intended on there be Abortion Care to elaborate a bit? I mean, for me... I'm Pro Life, but I'm also pro free will. I believe we were all given the capacity to make our own choices be the ones I agree with or not, so then I wonder who am I to completely take that choice away from another woman? Then of course, free will also means I could commit murder, that's my choice right? Where is the line? Know what I mean? It can cause quite a philosophical confusion. Just wondered how you saw it. I hate abortion, it should be outlawed, If you don't want kids, Both parties need to do something about it besides Murder. I agree with you...they should outlaw third trimester abortions & that partial birth abortion preceedure. that is aweful & the AMA says is NEVER medically neccessary. I also wish women should stop using the quick fix & start using other options...like adoption without going...ewwwww. That sort of attitude leaves out other options & takes "choices" away. |

Well to answer your question... can you be a lib & be a Christian?
I guess all you would have to do is look at your own values & how you actually live & see if they add up to what's in God's word. You would also have to see if your compassion...just like your guilt, is justified. I personally think libs care they are just misguided in their solutions to proble,s & don't want to entertain any other choice for society. For example... abortion verus adoption. or.. Abstinence versus passing out condoms. Simplistic but there yu have it. |

The majority of women don't use abortions for a quick fix. 
There are rape victims, incest victims, and saving the life of the mother situations. For women that aren't in those groups, it is a heart-wrenching decision that isn't taken lightly. And...I know quite a few people that have adopted. |

The ridiculous assertion that women are "utilizing abortion as a means of birth control" is baseless and unfounded. For one thing, abortions are expensive and many insurance carriers will not cover them. It is far less costly to simply purchase a package of condoms from the local drug store. That argument is silly in my opinion.
