Ok so a while back when it was JSH, I met a guy, he was cool ONLINE! we meet and he is a total CHILD! Smothered me constantly. Of course I tried to Leave him be, but did he listen NO, he had to make me mad at him and I turned into a total Biatch. Is this normal to be someone else in here, yet act like a crazy child in public?? AND Should I not come here due to this downfall?? What would you do? It's been my experience that most of the people I've met from dating sites are nothing at all like their on line personae. Of course, the ones I've met from dating sites have turned out to be an arsonist, a phony bank teller, a newspaper columnist who wanted me to write her column for her (while she took the credit, of course), liars and clingers and decepticons of all stripes. One good one out of the bunch and I can't even begin to explain what's going on there, since I have no idea at the moment. As for not coming here -- ?? That's a tough call, because I know people who HAVE met someone great here (see the "Eileen" thread for perhaps the best example ever). It can happen. The odds aren't great, as far as I can tell, but there is a possibility. What would I do? I don't look for people on dating sites anymore, but that's more a function of there simply not being anyone compatible with me here, moreso than my bad past experiences. I feel like I understand the process better now -- if someone compatible ever DID show up here, I would want to talk to them at least, and see what could happen. But I would take my time about it, and be very very careful. |
