I had told her in the beginning I would never get married again and that I didn't want any more children (shes 28 and wants one) so my question...was I being to set in my ways??? I know there has to be someone here thats been through this...I'm so confusedbrokenheart sad brokenheart sad brokenheart sad brokenheart

I don't think that going into a relationship that you can be so absolute, a certain amount of compromise is needed....

Nothing wrong with setting ground rules for yourself and she knew it the beginning she either accepted it and dated you or didn't and doesn't date you. It's her lose anywayflowers

Yeah I hear you but at the same time it's probably something that she wanted from the beginning, maybe she was hoping you'd come around to her way of thinking?

Dude....you told her in the beggining what the deal was. It sux for you but you have no reason to feel guilty.

She probably thought she could change you...and when she saw that she couldnt, she left.

The children issue makes or breaks many relationships. I'm 38. I don't want to have any babies now. But for some reason, that makes some men think I won't be good with their existing kids.

I always wanted a family, grew up in a close family, and am very family centric. Just because I don't want babies now doesn't mean I don't want to deal with their children.

Someone who is aiming for children and a family shouldn't get into a relationship thinking that the other person will change his mind.

I agree with Talldub!!

I am living with someone right now...and 3 months ago, we both said that we would not live with anyone again!!

never?

IF you think that you and she can work out some sort of compromise, then work it out. IF you are serious about never, then that is what it is...never. never is pretty clear.

How long have you been seeing each other? did you meet on this site? How much time do you spend together?

Life is a series of 'non'absolutes...the only thing that is certain, is change!!

See...I've already got 2 kids...6 more years to go...I just wanted to enjoy the rest of my life with someone special....can't even type..hands are shaking

Has she ever been married? Does she have any kids already?

Or would this be the first time?

So a month is quite awhile to you?

Let her go, who cares? If she can't accept you for who you are and what you want.... She'll never accept you totally in the long run.
