I am making this as general as possible to appeal to EVERYONE, but feel free to use your own understanding in answering...

Do you believe in Fate (that you are destined by design to do what you do and be who you are),or do you believe in Destiny (as in you are the captain, you make your own choices and the consequences are the direct result of those choices)?

I find it fascinating that those who say they believe in destiny/free will/ whatever, have ALSO been guilty of saying a time or two that "It must have been _______'s will" (supply whatever you want here). You have been know to attribute some of life's events to a 'force outside your control'.

So what do you think?

I own and am fully responsible for every action and consequence of this life's journey....

I have no fate.... but that which I create.

I have no destiny...but that which I create.

So you have never been guilty of telling someone to...Trust God...or It's God's Will?

Well I may ... hmmm.. fate is left to those who think they have no control over their own destiny. We all make choices...that's free will.. Fate is the inevitable outcome.

How'd I do?

I believe utterly in destiny as you defined it. My destiny is 100% the result of my actions.

I can't say I've NEVER said anything like "It's the will of god". I probably did so at least a few times back in my born-again days. But I didn't then, and don't now, feel an sense of "guilt" about it. And I'm wondering why you would use that word at all.

I would say that in the face of historical evidence (such as the holocaust), as well as many other events, I think it's pretty clear that if there is a God who can intervene it's a cold heartless bastard.

I wouldn't let a God like that walk my dog much less run my life.

To worship such a God would be like worshiping Satan himself.

This is a good question. At first thought, I would say destiny as we do have free will and to say that it's already been determined almost says that no we don't because the end was decided. That's alot of assumptions though. I mean there are almost always several ways to get to the same result, so even if we chose whatever we chose we might still end up in the same place.

I'm going with we do have free will and we make our own choices, but these choices and the end is already known. That's not to say chosen for me or against my will or in spite of my will, but already written out. It's never about the destination though, so I say relax and enjoy the journey to wherever it takes you.
