Well...other than the people I have seen who HAVE found someone....not much actually gives me hope.

The way I see it...there IS someone out there for me. Maybe, just maybe, she'll be wandering around one of these sites feeling just as...I dunno....not really lonely....but more unlucky in love...as I do.

This dating site jazz is actually a great ice-breaker for when you're with people.

I mean, face the music. It's a limitless supply of good laughs and comic relief and it can open up people to talk about what they would NEVER say to strangers online.

Check the paper to see if my name is in the obituary... looks like I'm still alive... so the newspaper must keep me going. Once you're name is in there, you're pretty much done.

What keeps me going cause I believe to give up is a cop out. I don't believe that one should just give up on anything in life. If you want anything bad enough in life you will work for it.

Well, I've pretty much given up on finding anyone on a dating site. I've been dabbling with these sites for about 10 years now, and my experiences with meeting dating site people in real life have almost all been absolutely catastrophic.

I've come to the conclusion that the only way I'll ever meet anyone decent is is in real life -- but I'm always willing to be proven wrong, if someone special signs up here maybe today or tomorrow -- ?? You never know....

I'll met ya sexy lexy... I know that we'll hit it off...

B/c if there really is someone for everyone...then mine is out there and Ijust haven't met him yet. I get a little less hopeful each day tho.........

For me it's the determination factor of never giving up on myself, and knowing I deserve what happiness lies ahead of me.

I still have hope for alot of things: that the economy will change and I can find a job; hope that I'll reach 17 years sobriety; hope that I'll find the love of my life and spend the rest of my days with him; hope that this country will get it together and help the people of this country who are suffering. In these bad times, HOPE is all there is right now.

meet people on here is ok, but actually meeting somone that is willing to work for a relationship and keeping things real with themselves and what they do or want in life is another story. Now mind you, they'er are a couple women on this form that if i was interested in. I think things might be different, but the fact is. I'm not. So that leaves to dealing with women that don't use the forum and that alone is almost a wast of my time...

Exactly, because how can you even really get to know anything about someone who doesn't use the forums?

I mean, the typical dating site profile is worthless -- it contains less information than the ingredients list on a bag of salted peanuts, and with worse spelling and punctuation.

Outside of someone making forum posts -- and I'm talking LOTS of forum posts -- it's almost impossible to really get any idea of who someone really is here....

There used to be a few locals here who I thought I could possibly be interested in -- but they never posted in the forum, and they don't respond to e-mails. I'm not about to get into another pretend-3200-miles-away LDR again. So what are the options on a site where no one nearby is serious about actually talking to someone?

As far as relationships, what keeps me going is knowing that if I can't find the right life partner for me, I can find the right night partner every now & then, to keep me going....

I have given up. I'm just here typing to myself since I havn't got anyone to talk to.
