I dated a bi-polar man... well one that admitted to it at least. He was fine most of the time, but when he wasn't he REALLY wasn't.

I can't handle the bi-polar thing, sorry but true, one minute you are the greatest thing since sliced bread and the next you are the scum of the earth for telling a story that happened at work that had nothing to do with that person.

I'm sure there are plenty of people with it in the world who stay on their meds an all, but the one's I've known go on and off all the time. I can't do that rollercoaster.

Bi-polar, schicophrenic, sociopaths..... don't even look at them for a relationship. The excitement that they bring isn't worth the heartache in the end. I'm too old for that.

Best sex in the world.(almost)
But only if they know they have real issues, if they won't admit to it, too inhibited.

im so sick of people using mental issues as defensive mechanisms...i worked using the dsm4 and there are fewer people with TRUE mental anguish...we are socially accepting apathy as a disease that needs treatment...and all the drugs they throw people on for these "disorders" are so unstable and can cause a lot more harm than good

Why would someone want someone that was bipolar, schizo etc? There's way too much drama and it's like a roller coaster ride.. plus they normally don't stay on their meds!

As Someone diagnosed with Bi-Polar, I feel this is an unfair Myth. Their are many Bi-Polar People functioning VERY Well in Our Society, but like anything else You don't hear about the Good. Once My Diagnosis was made a lot of Things started making sense and Questions were answered. After They got My Meds and Dosages changed around to the Proper Ones there was a 1000% Improvement. PLEASE don't Profile and Categorize All of Us because of some.

Well Said!

I wasn't bothered by the fact many of my bf's were schizo, bipolar, whatever. It was just i got sick of wondering when they'd next go off on one. I would think to myself "He will change his mind again in about 5 weeks, he may shout at me in 3 minutes time.....etc". You just never know. I was scared i would get stabbed.

Just had one leave me and go back to her ex-husband. Anyone dealt with this? And, as she was so much a woman I want, is there another one out there? Love living on the edge.

Danggg! I guess different strokes for different folks. Schizos need some lovin too! hahaha

What i don't like is when people are judged for having a mental illness. I understand some have treat people quite bad, but that doesn't mean you have to belittle or be rude about mental illness. It's the ignorant ones, which need to take a long look at their attitudes towards this kind of thing. It doesn't help. Mentally ill people need to be understood more. It isn't fair to vilify them, at all. I wouldn't go belittling my little sister, just cause she may be bipolar. Only mentioning this cause i seen someone do it in another forum. Anyway, have a good day :)

Depends on how crazy she is and what kind of crazy it is. Hell I'm sure I have my own personality quirks shed have to deal with. Everybody is a little crazy after all jmo.

yes and

only real advice I have is be careful of anyone who still has "ex" issues - and it doesn't matter if they are positive or negative issues - the ex should not be on her mind YOU should be

if they are in regular contact with an ex at all the possibility exists that they will reunite - esp if the break up was recent

it really limits my prospects but I seldom consider anyone who is still regular contact with an ex or who has been divorced less than say 6 mos

hear hear

not only that but prolly less than .000000001% of the people "diagnosing" on here are really qualified to do so

yet these words can have such a harmful impact - my ex ran around telling people that I was unstable, psychotic and schizophrenic and PEOPLE BELIEVED HIM - EVEN PEOLE WHO HAD KNOWN ME FOR YEARS AND SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER - part of it was a revenge motive because I was planning to leave him at the time, but no one saw through it. Even after I had an extensive evaluation that indicated nothing more than a situational (divorce) depression - he kept it up

that was 13 years ago and time had proven me to be very stable - unusually so, but I should not have had to put up with all that

wish I'd had the dollars to slap a gag order on him
