“Twin Towers”

Do you remember where?
You were when it happened there.
It happened in just a blink.
Did you have time to think?

As the first plane found its target and hit.
Did it make your heart leap and almost quit?
It was not long.
Before everything seem to go wrong.

Fear was flying high.
The smoke reached up towards the sky.
Windows had shattered and falling down.
Debris was falling all around.

People were running for their life.
Wondering what happen and brought this strife.
As some looked up the second one hit the tower.
It seemed to devour.

The sky seemed to be falling around.
It was not long before the ashes covered the ground.
No one was sure were to go.
It looked like a war zone all aglow.

In the faces all you could see was fear.
What ever was happening was very near.
Only one thing came to your mind.
That was to run and leave it all behind.

Running as fast and far as you could.
When you felt safe you turned around and stood.
Looking back at the rumble of what once was.
The Twin Towers, as you stood there and pause.

You looked every direction.
Just to take the time for recollection.
Not having a clue.
Of what next was due.

You stood there in that exacta place.
Feeling the tears fall upon your face.
As you go back in time.
Thinking why would one commit such a horrible crime?

Standing there brought back all those fears.
That seemed only yesterday but it has been 6 years.
A day in history etched in our brain.
That still brings back so much pain.

It is so very true it was not only the Police & Fire Fighters that were Heros that day. It was someones Brother, Sister, Mother, Father, Aunt, Uncle, Grandmother, Grandfather ect... that were all Heros on that day.

As they struggled to help those in need. From pulling a child from the rubble to handing water to the ones struggling to get the concrete and other debris off of those that were hurt and those that did not make it.

It is all those and more including the passagers on the plane that did not make it's goal of reaching it's target. Thanks to those passagers for saving many more lives that we would have lost in the process.

Txs, thank you for reminding us all, this atrosity affected so many thousands of lives world wide. I very nearly lost a nephew to this horrendous and heinous crime ( had my nephew gone in to work that day) I am thanking God each and every day, not only for sparing his life, but for sparing the lives of countless others too and for the courageouse men and women of the police forces, ambulance services, fire departments, first aiders and anyone who gave comfort to the dying and injured. God bless you all
