Topic: First date flower questions. | |
---|---|
Ok, so I'm travelling 2 hours this Thursday to meet a girl I met online. I'd like to get her a little something as a gift. I've settled on flowers, but I'm lost from there.
Should I buy the flowers in her town, before I meet her, or buy them at home and hope they don't wilt on the drive? Which flower? They're all supposed to mean something special, but for me they need subtitles. I'm leaning towards red rosebud, but any feedback would be appreciated. |

A nice spring bunch would be nice, I'd steer
clear of the roses (those imply love) or sale. I'd get when getting close to her home to preserve their freshness. good luck |

get them in her town and I would just do a nice bouquet of flowers, but I am sure that whatever you pick will be nice. Remember it is the thought that counts. Have fun on your first meeting.

I agree, buy them as you get closer to her town and just pick a bright bouquet. Roses are a bit much on the first date in my opinion. Be safe and have a blast!

ya i wouldn't get the roses like it was said, a nice springs bouquet could be nice and get them near her place. Good luck

Definitely get something other than roses.

Gerber daisies are a nice choice, and I'd get a small bouquet from a florist. Simple.
Have a wonderful time. |

Yes, daisies are nice, Lillies are nice too, maybe ask her what kind of flowers she likes in a round about way without acting like you want to know for a purpose...
Like "I got this girl roses once, and I found out she was allergic" she'll take it from there.... We women aren't stupid... |

Don't get them from the market! Do go to a florist. From the market, implie's thoughtlessness.

I don't like roses. I am not alone in that. Do not buy roses..... do not buy roses or carnations....

agree with the others on the rose thing...
get in your car, start driving, when you get there stop at a flowershop... ...when you walk in dont even think...get the one that stands out to you most... |

Thanks for all the advice so far.
I'm getting the impression that roses aren't a good idea! Okay no roses then. I'll have to look for a flower shop in the area. Found a place close by. I'll have to let you know how the flower part goes. The rest I keep for myself! |

I think Roses are overrated.. Personally I love sunflowers or gerber daisies.. But make sure to get the flowers close to her town so they won't die on the ride there...

Have fun .. the happy bouquet implies 'lightness' which is good for a first meet ..
The first guy I ever met from online, in person, brought me a mixed bouquet. He had flown into a nearby town and still had to drive 2 hours. He bought them close to where we met. It was perfect! (unfortunately for him .. he wasn't ) Perfect that is .. not even close. But the flowers rocked. |

I give flowers on whims, decide it would be fun & send them. Don't send roses, but will include 1 just for fun. Gifts are meant to be given to make the giver & reciever feel good, least the way I see it.
